Looking Ahead to 2007

Newsletters

In order to make positive changes in 2007, start by taking an honest look at your eating habits and daily routine. In order to lose weight, you'll need to change the behaviors that made you overweight in the first place.

Reflect on what daily behaviors have helped you decrease your caloric intake or increase your activity. What behaviors hindered your efforts? What behaviors created challenges that kept you from making progress?

After assessing your personal challenges to weight loss, try working out a strategy to gradually change the habits or attitudes that have sabotaged your past efforts. Create a plan to gradually change these habits or rid yourself of them.

It's important to remember that it takes months for a behavioral change to become instinctive. You'll likely have occasional setbacks. But instead of giving up entirely, simply start fresh the next day. Expect to make some mistakes, and they won't become failures.

Expect to succeed, and you will!
