Thanks for the sympathy Hiker!  I appreciate it.  It's rough being sick alot.

I lost a little bit of weight - about 7 pounds (makes me sad to admit how very little) by not eating pizza and not buying big bags of cheetos to wolf down:chewing:  Calorie restriction worked, but I think I was reducing too much (1200) and I would always snap and binge and completely undo everything I had accomplished, which kept me yo-yoing between 154-160 for a long time.  Now I'm trying to eat about 1800 which is a tad bit under the maintenance that livestrong.com suggests.  And I'm tracking my intake on The Daily Plate on livestrong.  Love that feature, helps me keep track of protein and sodium etc. as well as calories!

Thanks for the help!  I'll check out your link   I guess I'm probably worrying for nothing, I'll probably pack the pounds back on, but it's just been a little unsettling dropping 5 pounds in two weeks when it took me 12 months to drop the last 7.

Those free programs are great, I used to use one on FitDay and I ended up buying the upgraded version. It has a lot of bells and whistles that I like but the free one was really good too. I used the freebie for about a month and since I liked it I decided to go for it, it lets me track my food, exercise, goals and it has a diary feture. I find it really helpful to be able to look back and see where I was and it also let's me see what sets me off sometimes .

Anyway if you guys don't use one of these you might want to check them out.

I've never used the one on Daily Plate but it sounds like Jessa likes it so there are at lesat 2 good ones out there.

Time for my weekly weigh in, I am currently at 130.6 so sitll within my range. I don't know about you guys but I find it a lot harder to stay motivated when I am trying to maintain rather than lose. I miss that mood boost every week. Actaully I did go down slightly but nothing bit,  it is harder to keep pushing yourself don't you think?

Jessa, no problem. If you want to change it just let me know. I will be updating the chart early Sunday morning so if you want it changed on that one just let me know. What's important is that you feel healthy at whatever range works for you. I know I am thinking of going a little lower on my next range. I'm not there yet but I might consider it.

This weeks weight in 178.4.......I have not even dieted. Must be because of the warmer weather and being busier at work I am burning more calories. I sell tractors and to a lot of loading equipment on and off the trailer........I must be getting a good work out. Last year I had an assistant. Must be why I gained last year.

JD, glad to hear the tractors are still seliing, in this econonmy it's good to hear. and you can skip any exercise, becusae you are getting it at work every day ! I don't think anyone in Massachusetts is buying tractors yet, it still too cold here but we are thinking about spring. Guess I'd better order some plant pots for my deck soon.

We're looking good guys and I have finally figured out, well actually Nir told me...why my old charts weren't updating. I can fix the old one but for the next couple of weeks at least they should update.

Weigh in today was 125.

Original goal was 127, but when I got there I decided to go for 125 and now I'm afraid to stop dieting cold turkey, so I'm easing up gradually on calories.  I suspect the weight will settle out to 127 in a week or two.

Nancy, I know what you mean, I had originally planned on 130, then 128 now I'm thinking 125. It is so scary to think about stopping what we have been doing because what we have been doing worked. Now it's so much more scary. That is why I started the challenge hopefully we can help each other out with ideas on how to stop loosing but not gain.

Do you want me to change your goal or leave it as is? Either is fine by me, whatever you are more comfortable with just let me know. I'll hold off until tomorrow at updating the chart.

No, Hiker, leave it as it is.    (My original, original goal was 130, also.)

Edited to add:

The problem is I have to add only about 500-600 calories to get back up to maintenance. I never was a vegetable person, so I already eat more vegetables than I can stand. If I try eating any more, I'll end up hating them.

OTOH, 600 calories of  bad food is nothing (think one cheeseburger, or one big slice of pizza, and poof!, they're gone). And then I'm afraid I'll get in the habit again.

Maybe more fruit, and some moderately bad food, I guess, else I won't stick with it.  Sounds stupid, though.

What are you going to do?

Fruit sounds like a great idea. Also since you have room for a little treat, maybe a dish of slow churned ice cream...about 240 calories in a cup. That's one of my favorites. OR if you're on the run maybe a protein bar....watch them, the calories can be horrrible but there are some good ones out there, my favorites are NuGo Bars, hard to find but really fixes my chocolate cravings for a healthy 200 calories.

Anyway, I'm sure you will find the right combo.

Weigh in: 124

I've been easing up gradually in calories (from diet mode to maintenance mode). Evidently I'm easing too slowly, but better losing than gaining.  I'll zero in on the right level eventually.

Hey guys...sorry for not checking in (again!  I'm making this a habit).  I went home for spring break, and my parent's internet is a relic from the dark ages.

I am at 155 this week.

Hiker, can I change my goal and range?  :dizzy:   I'm thinking 152-156, goal 154.   I guess that's cheating, but I really want to be in my range for at least a few weeks!  I'm falling way behind lol.

Hi guys, I will update the numbers on Sunday and that will be our last update as the challenge ends on 3/28.  I just wanted to thank all of you for joining me in this challenge and most especially for your patience as I worked a lot of kinks out. I can see where I have made some errors, the biggest one being I didn't count the weeks right so on Sunday I will change all of us to purple since we have all been staying within our range.

Jess, I changed your range as requested but I wasn't sure how to handle the # of weeks in range.

Since this was my first attempt I think no one should suffer for my errors so we are all purple if that is alright with everyone. Again,I apologize for the learning curve and the fact that you guys were the guinea pigs.

It's been fun, thanks for joining me in this challenge.
