Yep! I always just eat egg whites. Then I get my omegas else where.
But, thanks for explaining the egg thing Nir. I was wondering how they did that.

I get them from the tbsp of ground flaxseed on my oatmeal every morning.
BTW Nir, I'm about to watch My Family, one of the British sitcoms I love. I don't like American sitcoms.

181 today. On our way to the walmart and then the mall to get some sneakers and a surround sound. wish me luck not wanting the junk at the MALL!!! We havent been to the mall in over a year!
Got some stomach bug last nite, ate dinner and within an hour i was sick, and then again later before bed. But i feel better now! Not sure what it was! I had a ham sandwich on a kaiser roll with mayo and avocado again, with an orange. Very simple, all things were cleaned...so who knows? i feel loads better today though!
I have my skinny jeans on with a snug blouse tucked in and a belt....funny since i never dress up! but then coolest part? my skinny jeans are gapping around my waist in the back!! YAY! that is an AWESOME feeling, hence the belt to keep them up!

Not much fun to be at the same weight I was a full two weeks ago, but it will come off if I keep doing well. Yesterday I had commercial soup for lunch, a Trader Joe's veggie lasagna for dinner, and popcorn with my movie... all high in salt... I should be back down tomorrow.
Anyway, I'm on schedule for my two pounds a week goal.

Hello
Back again - sorry I was out for two weeks - lots to take care of. I am still at the same weight 121. No gain but no loss - I started taking Bikram Yoga - two classes so far - you really sweat a lot in that class so hopefully I'll see some changes. Also this will be my last week at work - so we'll see what retirement has in store for me. Will check in next week (Saturday).

Ok, I wasn't going to post my weight this morning, cause it is way high. But, I need to be accountable and just suck it up.
So, 128lbs this morning. I have been doing allot of research this morning on water retention and stuff like that. Cause I get huge fluctuations in my scale readings. I think this is do to all the caffeine I take in. I thought maybe it was salt or sodium in my diet. But, I don't think that is it, because I still get messed up readings even when I am fasting. So, I think it's what I am drinking.
With all that being said. WATER! WATER! WATER! So, that's my goal now. To drink a ton of water and lay off of the tea and diet soda. See if that helps.
I am sure my weight will be back down a couple of pounds in the morning. So, if it is, I will post again....
Good Luck everyone! Hope you are all doing better then me...

I have skinny jeans - hung up and waiting for me to get around the 199 range. The pre-baby jeans. I can fit into them, but it's not a pleasant experience, so I'll just wait until I can just jump on into them.

| I am up. After acquiring a nasty cough last week and a 3 party weekend my weight this morning was 125.8. Cue the evil laughter. Muahhahahhah... So it's like starting all over again (except that the salt and water retention should leave my body in a couple of days). I'm hoping for a miracle cure for the cough so I can get back to exercising. Argh! (That's in honour of Robbie Burns.)

Hey you guys! Sorry its been SOO long. I just haven't had the chance to get on the computer at all. Anyway, I've been eating really horribly and haven't been exercising either. I haven't gained any weight though, I'm still at 141 lbs. I'm just gonna count today as my weigh-in day this week (unless tomarrow happens to be different).

Peter, interestng how you track your weight. I track mine daily and average it weekly but with your system you can average it for any day of the week as well. Hmmm, I may give that a try.
My weight this week 135.7, down .9 from last week.

I've actually considered keeping two charts like below. One with the actual weights, and the second with the average of the last three days. But I pretty much do that in my head... so I don't get so bothered if my weight fluctuates (up).

I have reached my goal weight today of 179!!!! Now, granted, should we wait to see if I stay here for two days before officially saying I hit my goal? WOW. I did it. I am also 56% of my YAHOO TRACKING WT LOSS GOAL.....that is 170 by March 1,09. I think I may reach that goal as well if I stay on track.
I had a great weekend, we accomplished a TON of tasks here around the house and we got all the goals reached for us too! I am learning that if i just take it slow and just think about what i am going to do before i do it that things go better.
I believe that every one of us has the ability to get thru this challenge of healthy weight loss. Just keep your head up and think what you eat before you eat it. DO YOU REALLY WANT TO EAT IT?
Good Luck all of my friends!!!

Thanks Cindy!!! I believe that you can do it too!!! I know you're having some difficulty lately and I wish I could help more! I can just say take your time, think about what you want to eat, and if you feel for even one second that if you eat it you wont be happy afterwards, do not eat it!!! Wait, drink a glass of water....in 30 minutes if you still want something specific, go eat it then enjoy it. I have been doing that this weekend while D would be eating...feeling that temptation you know? so i grabbed my big water bottle and drank most of it, then just kept going on....turned out i didnt go eat it after all!!!
You can do it Cindy, I know you can, I have seen you do it!!! This is just a bump in your road!!! I believe in you!

I apologize, I had not updated my status when I should have.
I gained weight. I am at 241.5 now. My blood pressure shot up last week to around 160/120 and I became really sick. I am back on blood pressure medication.
I really need to do something different.

So far I've stuck to my New Years commitments:
1. I'll report my weight and be honest.
2. If I want to quit the challenge, I can. But I have to post and say good-bye.
3. I'm going to abstain from the following, and post about it if I fail or change my mind:
a. Alcohol, with the option to have one drink when I'm with other people and/or at a public place.
b. Desserts, with the option to have one serving when I'm with other people and/or at a public place.
b. Soda pop, with the option to have some when I'm at a public place.
c. Candy
Which means that this may be the last picture ever taken of me with a Diet Pepsi! I didn't mean to pose with one, but just always had one in-hand or nearby.

Thanks!
A water bottle would become just another addiction.
But I have noticed that I am filling up my 1 gallon (milk) bottle of water I keep in the fridge every day now rather than every few days.

I'm up to 129.8
I've been eating everything in sight the last week, and I've been sick and having a hard time making it to the gym. If I'm not careful, I'm going to undo the bit of good I had done earlier this month!

Yeah, I gotta do something. My snacking is way out of control and there is always something stopping me from working out. Usually what is stopping me is my ankles blistering from using the treadmill or my feet getting so dry they split on the bottom. I have some lotion my doctor recommended but last week I was sick and didn't use the lotion, so my foot split again.
I made bags of vegetables to snack on at work (carrots, celery, cauliflower, cucumbers, radishes) but now I am so sick of them. I have sugar-free cinnamon gum but even that isn't helping.
I think that goals seem to work for me. In the past I'd say "I am never eating out again" and the next day I stop at McDonalds. Announcing my resolution to family and friends plus setting a beginning and ending date (entire 2009 year) really helped. My goals have to be specific on what I can and can't do. Plus it can't be so restrictive that I will end up breaking it. I moved to an area where snacks are laid out and always visible. I've resisted them before, why can't I now?
On the positive side, I have stuck to my New Years resolution to not eat out at all. I have been tempted, but the only time I purchased anything was when I had to run my daughter from one school to another and stopped at Taco Bell for her lunch. She ate, I just smelled and drooled while driving. I have not consumed anything prepared in a resteraunt.
cportwine, I'll see about finding the Eat to Live book you suggested. I have the "You: On A Diet" MP3s, I should try and listen to that again.
Peter wrote: BTW Nir, I'm about to watch My Family, one of the British sitcoms I love. I don't like American sitcoms.
I know that was directed to Nir but I had to comment. I love watching BBC sitcoms. Our family watches 4 that come on here on Sunday nights: "Are You Being Served?", "Keeping Up Appearances", "As Time Goes By", and "Vicar of Dibley". I don't care for As Time Goes By very much, but love watching Vicar of Dibley.

Hey Codemonkey, I don't think I could live on the book Eat to Live, but I think it will get my mind in the right place and maybe give me some pointers on what to change in my own diet.
It's hard sometimes. Lately, as you can tell from the chart, has not been easy for me. But, I am trying. I am sure you will figure out something also.
When I was having feet problems, I switch my exercise. I still switch them around. One week I will do the treadmill, then next week the elliptical, then one week the bike. lol, right now I am into the elliptical. But, last week had to lay off that cause of muscle soreness. I swear it's always something.
That's good that you don't eat out anymore. I don't live close enough to anything to have that pleasure. So, If I want to eat out, it's at least a 20min drive. So, that one good thing about where I live. I would of had a heck of time not eating, sitting there smelling the daughters food. Good for you!
Hang in there. I'll be rooting for you...

cportwine, this is what I say about ETL on this website:
While we continue to support people on all diet plans, we recommend that you read Eat To Live. Whether or not you choose to follow the plan, reading the book will make it more difficult to ignore the long-term impact of eating unhealthy foods. It will have a positive, lifelong influence on your eating habits, weight, and health.
That's just what it did for me!
MudMan, it's great that you're keeping at it. The thing about ETL for me is that the closer to ETL you eat, the more volume you eat. When living very close to the ETL plan, my problem is eating enough.
And by the way, I've never made any of the ETL recipes... I basically just eat the ingredients! For me, "cooking" is adding a little Promise margarine and salt to my green peas after I boil them; a little reduced fat mayo and dill pickle relish to a can of tuna to make tuna salad; or a little reduced fat mayo and lots of raisins to shredded carrots to make carrot salad.
But I sometime just eat cut green beans or sliced mushroom right out of the can! And apples, bananas, grapes, raw cashew nuts...
Also, my New Years commitments you see above are a work in process. I just keep modifying them to suit my changing needs.
I'll have to try some more of the BBC shows. It's really fun when you get to know the characters, too.
I think I've seen all the Keeping Up Appearances episodes. Plus, that's my mother! She actually taught me to put postage stamps on envelopes straight to show people you care. Though not with a ruler as you see in the opening of each episode.
Once they showed Are Your Being Served Again, where the cast moves to a farm in the country. I only saw a few episodes, and that was hilarious. I don't like the store version as much.

That is pretty much how I eat. But, since the holidays and my last check up. I have been slacking and eating things like brownies and stuff.
So, hoping the book and reading it will spark some of my old ways into action again. Plus, giving me new ideas as well. I can't even imagine making beans without adding salt. Ick! I suppose if I drowned them in taco sauce or something, lol.
ps: I am a bad one, for eating tuna strait out of the can. Just love the stuff.
