I won't have any steps for today, I went to the beach and I didn't want my pedometer to be stolen, wet, or crushed. So I decided to leave it at home. But I did walk today along the beach. Felt like forever walking back to my towels:devil:

well as you can tell, it was another work day for me. Monday: 16588. I probably would have gotten more but like Beckster said, it was raining hard and windy and storming the whole day so I got to slack a bit and spent a couple hours of my 8 hour shift inside, out of the rain!

My real challange is tomorrow - I have the whole day off and no plans and I tend to spend the whole time in bed on my computer. I will try to get out and walking though.

Meh, I can't seem  to remember to wear my ped every day!  I remembered it today...finally.  So maybe I'll have some numbers for this week!  You're all doing so great - it's a real encouragement!

haha in 2 hours this morning it said I only did 55 steps... even though I was cleaning up and sorting things out around the house and doing laundry (down 2 flihts of stairs).... so I realized that on my pj pants, it clips on too low (I guess my pj pants are low rise? or how i wear them since they are baggy) so it doesn't count it properly. good to know.
Well it made me get dressed into normal clothes! haha
Just something to watch out for!

Really? On mine I have to wear it low or doesn't work. Like the other day I was wearing cottony drawstring shorts and I had them around my belly buttonish, and it didn't count any steps at all. But if I keep it closer to my hips-ish, it works just right...

well as predicted I haven't walked much today. It is 8pm and I still have under 5000 steps. Usually I wouldn't care but now thanks to this challenge, I don't want to be so much under my goal so I am going to walk to the mailbox and mail a letter that I planned to mail on my drive to work tomorrow :)

Lets us see. My pedometer is horrible! Like i clipped it to my belt and it said i went like 200 steps.

Thursday 5th- 11,612

Sunday? 8th?- 16,501

 

I haven't much kept up on it like i should be but i will. There is another number around here somewhere i just have to find it.

I didn't reach my goal but that walk definitely helped. I walked to the mailbox and then kept on going for a bit longer before I turned around. I am pleased with my result for today. Not bad for a day off and not seeing my bf (I am usually more active with him because he loves going for walks and hikes and stuff)

Today I also had nothing to do.... so I went with my husband to school. He has class from 1-3. I went walking for about an hour and a half and then went to the library to read some HEALTH MAGAZINES! So, if you know of someone who is going to town.... tag along and do some walking & sightseeing!

Here are some TIPS to increase your STEPS!

Work
·  Get off the bus earlier and walk farther to work. 
·  Take several 10-min walks during the day.
·  Choose the furthest entrance to your building.
·  Host “walking meetings.”
·  Walk to a restroom, soda machine or copy machine on a
different floor. 
·  Take the long way when walking to meetings.
·  Walk a few laps on your floor during breaks. 
·  Walk during your lunch break.
·  Walk to a colleague’s office rather than send an email.
·  Take 5 minute wa lking breaks from you computer.
·  Park farther away. 
·  Take the stairs rather than the elevator or the escalator.
·  Start a walking club with your coworkers.
·  Walk while using a speaker phone. 
·  Get up and move at least once every 30 minutes.
 
Out and About
·  Park farther away in store parking lots.
·  Always return your grocery cart to the designated storage
area.
·  Avoid elevators and escalators—take the stairs.
·  Walk—don’t drive—for trips less than one mile.
·  Walk at the airport while waiting for your plane. 
·  Take several trips to unload your groceries from you car.
·  Avoid drive-through restaurants—get out of your car and
walk inside.

Friends and Family
·  Plan active vacations.
·  Make a family walk a habit.
·  Kids can take their parents for a walk.
·  Kids can volunteer to walk their dog or the neighbor
·  Do a family challenge to see who can get the most st
in a day.
·  Reward kids/family members for meeting step goals
·  Take an after-dinner walk with the family. 
·  Walk while talking on a cordless phone.
·  Walk during the commercials on TV.
·  Move at least once every 30 minutes.
·  Occasionally walk to the TV to change the channel.
·  Turn off the TV and participate in family activity.

I did 16478 steps on Wednesday but I didn't have it on when I had my 2 hour dance class.
It broke this evening though grr. So tomorrow (hopefully) i have to buy a new one.

No problem Bekster.... I always think of ways to do extra steps. I even jog in place sometimes when I'm bored, or doing house cleaning.... every little step counts!

yay I made my goal. for Thursday I had 10027 steps!
I only bought my new pedometer at 3:30pm but then I dog walked in the afternoon and walked with my bf in the evening so I still made it. Well I was about 200 steps short right before bed so when I was brushing my teeth I was pacing back and forth in the hall and going up and down the stairs to reach my goal! yay

I know exactly what you mean!! It is so much easier to get all my steps if I will just take twenty minutes and go walk on my treadmill!!

Tomorrow (day off) I am going with my bf to a huge park along the water that has a 31mile trail along the coast (we won't be walking quite that far) but when I went with him a couple months ago, we were walking for about 3-4 hours straight so hopefully that will be the case tomorrow too so I will do well on a day off

have you guys heard of FavoriteRun.com? I joined about two months ago.... you can see other peoples routes or group routes that way you dong run alone! Maybe meeting with other people will encourage you. I know it has with me.

We ended up not finding the place we wanted to but we went walking somewhere else. my total for Saturday is: 13780

I am not sure if i'll be wearing my pedometer tomorrow because I am going to the beach hopefully and skimboarding (falling into the water because Iam not good!), but I will see

I spent most of my day at the beach on Sunday so I didn't wear my pedometer at all.
Today I didn't walk that much - work was a slow day - Monday: 11681

Annnnd tuesday was a really bad day for me. I did NOTHING. ugh. Tuesday:2130

Been in Atlanta on a business trip. Monday was just over 10000, Tuesday 6800, Wednesday 8600.  Nice to be back, weight stayed the same which I count as good with the irregular hours and eating.:smile:

It's been so busy here.... We've been doing some renovating of our house... I got in some great cardio in, but not as many steps as I wanted..... plus i have my monthly visitor visiting. :P

Hey guys--

Unless it will really really hurt someone's feelings, I am going to scrap the chart for this week. It's my fault for not making completely sure I had someone lined up to do it. But, I left Wednesday, got home last night, and I'm leaving again tomorrow til next Friday. Can anyone be in charge of the chart for next week?

We have to stay motivated until the end of the month. Only a week more. Put on your pedometers and post your steps!

I did over 19 000 steps today. yay!

Well, I didn't wear my pedometer at all at camp. But, I walked a ton. Probably, like 20,000 steps. Or more. I dont know. But I went on hikes monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, and friday mornings, as well as tuesday, thursday, and friday afternoons. Good hikes, very enjoyable, very many steps. Plus walking over the camp, to class to my cabin, to the rec hall, mess hall, bath house...I walked a ton!! Up at five thrity every morning, in bed no early than 10:30. It was an amazing week.
