Hi Everyone,
I thought that since the Easter Challenge that Patchers formed has ended and we all did so well on, that we should have a challenge for Memorial Day, which for anyone not in the United States is the last Monday of the month of May. This year the date is May 28th, that would give us 7 weeks. We should each set our own goal, and then post our weights every 2 weeks, or even every week. So anyone interested please post away.
My starting weight was 222, I went on the Easter Challenge as a late entry, my goal was 217lbs, I am now 216lbs. My weight challenge for myself this time is to loose 14lbs by May 28th, that is an average of 2lbs per week. that would put me at 203lbs.

I hope that everyone will join me in this challenge and make it fun for all.

i think its a great idea to start another challange. for me the easter challange kept me in line because i knew i had to report back to everyone and it was fun to see how everyone else was doing so COUNT ME IN!!!
My goal for the easter challange was 10lbs i made 11
so i am starting off at 176.8lbs and would like to try and lose another 16lbs by memorial day which will leave me at 160. i know its kind of pushing the two lbs a week thing but id like to try for it
cant wait!!!!!!

Soontobeme, count me in! I was hoping someone would start another one. This really helps to keep me focused. I love losing weight in small increments.....breaking it down makes it seem so much more do-able
I will set a goal of 10 lbs again. Would really love more than that, as my son't wedding is June 16th and would love to hit goal by then. But, I will set 10 lbs as my goal and if I can go over.........great!

Sorry, I think that we should start today, or even Monday. Just post the starting weight for you and let me know how much you want to loose. I will add any late starters as they join the challenge. So Hisgal what weight are you starting at? I forgot. Guess I can look at the Easter Challenge huh?

Just a note to anyone new to weight loss...
2 pounds a week is generally considered to be the most a person should try to lose on healthy diet, though there are no absolute rules. For example, it may be healthy for some people to lose weight faster on a highly nutritious, low calorie diet that gives them all the nutrition they need.

You can count me in. I am so happy that so many folks are eager to move on to another challenge so soon. It does really help to break it down into these smaller goals. I think that once everyone reports in on the Easter challenge we could collectively break 100 lbs!
I'm starting at 285 and would love to get to 275 by Memorial Day. (Actually I would love to get to 150 but you can't have everything, lol.
Thanks for hosting a new challenge. The Easter one was sure a lot of fun!

I didnt do well at the Easter Challenge and I fell off the wagon at least 3 times (and all of last week) so I dont think I lost any fat during the Easter Challenge but I decided to start again monday (today) and why not sign up for the Memorial Day challenge? It will help me get ready for summer and my upcoming vacation/bathing suit season...so today is the first day to the new and improved HEALTHY me!! I dont know my starting weightit could be the same or higher than it was at the Easter Challenge but I will find out at the gym tonight when I go and report back here. All I know is that I FEEL bloated and fat. I dont like that at all. Let the challenge begin!! My goal for the end of May is to be healthier, skinnier and leaner than I am right now-whatever that means...whether it means 5 lbs or 12 lbs I am unsure..I just want to keep going. My ultimate goal is 18% bodyfat. Not sure what it is right now. Will have to check that too. I would like to lose 7-14 lbs over these 7 weeks though. Thanks for starting this!! It gives me a SECOND CHANCE to do welleven though I messed up the last one!!

Count me in!! I'm on my own lil Mother's Day Challenge need -6lbs more for that 10lb goal :O) so let's see I'll challenge myself 2 lbs a week starting today Wooo hoooo so 7wks that's -14 lbs Woooo hoooo let's go!!

I weighed 162.2 lbs on Easter morning...........take that as my starting weight........and have a goal of 10 lbs again..........so finishing weight by Memorial Day................152.2 LBS.    OH.......MY......GOODNESS...........COULD I REALLY GET THAT LOW???????

Hi, I would like to join this time! I read along with all of you during the Easter 2007 Challenge and I wish I would have joined because I haven't lost any weight for over a month now.
I am starting at 131 lbs and I would like to be 125 so 6 lbs! I really need to commit to a healthy diet, once and for all!!! I have to fit into my summer clothes!

Hello everyone :D
I was disappointed that I'd missed out on the Easter challenge, so I'm really excited to see a new one! Especially since I wanted to see how much I could lose by the time I move home from Uni, which pretty much coincides with the 28th of May.
So, seven weeks? I'm starting at 151lbs so my goal is to lose 11lbs, so that's about 1.5lbs a week. Definitely do-able I'd say.
So. Count me in!

I hope that I have not offended anyone in the posting of our weights and how much we want to loose, but, it just hit me that someone could be a male person and not a she..........so if there I was wrong on your sex, please let me know and I will correct it.

Ok this is strange. I am not sure how serious he is...but hubby was looking over my shoulder and HE WANTS to try the memorial day challenge! I still dont know our weights. I will post when we weigh in.
Ok...now I know why I procrastinated getting on the scale the last 2 weeks...I have gained a ton of weight!!! While trying to lose weight, I have gained it back. UGGHH. The good weigh in in Jan/feb said 132-134 lbs. My starting weight according to the white gym scale this morning was 141. Now, I DO feel extremely BLOATED and fatso some of it could be water BUT I guess I will just accept it and hopefully it will motivate me in this memorial day challenge even more. I am NOT happy right now, but avoiding the scale wasnt helping either. Guess all those baked goods and candy finally caught up with me!! My bad.

I'm in too. My starting weight for today is set at 178 lbs. My goal by Memorial day is 167 which is 9 lbs. I think this is a realistic number and it gives me something to strive for.

Welcome to our challenge junetwin2, Aimless, want2basmallersize, Holly1975 and lighten up. Glad you have all joined our challenge. You can either post your weekly weigh-ins or biweekly.
OWF if you hubby wants to join the challenge that would be great, I have included him on the list, so all we need now is his weight and how much he wants to loose.
As of today, we have set a tentative goal of loosing approximately 170lbs between us, that is more than an average whole person.........woo hoo.......that will look good on all of us if we meet that goal.
Once again.....Good Luck everyone, and for those who have not signed up yet, it is never to late to start.

So there's no set day for reporting back with our weights? Should we then post our regular weigh in and label it week one, week two et cetera? Just wanted to check, it might make it easier for when we have a breakdown of everyone's progress.

Hello everyone I have been trying to Join all day so I can be apart of this challenge, I just got in at 4:40pm.
I am 22 and I want to lose weight, I recently lost 8 pounds . I am watching what I eat closer. I have been wanting to lose weight for some time now. I am now 228lbs and 5ft 3in. I would love to be part of this challenge. I have a family reunion that weekend in May, but that is not the resign I want to lose weight (it helps though). I lost all of my baby weight (My son is 2) and then put even more on.
So count me in for 14lbs

Good luck you guys!! I'm Doing the Water diet, and walking but haven't seem to have lost any pounds! My dad and I are doing it together and he has lost 10 pounds! I havelost 1!!!He says i look like i have lost some . SO hopefully i have lost fat and gained muscle...anyway GOOD LUCK YOU GUYS WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!

i will post my current weight tomorrow. hopefully i won't need to lose more than 5 lbs.!
oh, and May 28th is excatly 2 months before my wedding! hopefully this will keep me on track! then perhaps a 4th of July challenge ? just a thought...

Hi All,
Wow, so many people joining us..........this is going to be a great challenge, I will need to change the amount of weight that we are trying to loose.
I want to welcome newcomers collegestudent, Shadysgirl, Ms. Whitley, Frankie and Zenobia.......I hope that I have not gotten anyones sex wrong. and once again FaTteeN123, I am really sorry...
I would say that we should at least post a weigh in every 2 weeks, I will personally post once a week on Sunday's that except that last week, I will weigh in on Memorial Day, just let me know how long you have gone between weigh ins when you post, so that I know if it was a week, 2 weeks, etc.
I wish everyone luck.........and of course we are all going to make our goals. And iwannabeskinny, I have changed your goal amount and don't feel bad, I am thinking of changing mine..........it looks like a big enough goal for me.
And SmallerMe, I have been called many things..........don't ever think that that I was called Sara before, but if you want me to be Sara, I will........I am Judy........LOL So much to keep track of though I might not know that you are talking to me.
Have a great weekend, I will be checking in everyday hopefully, just to see how we are all doing.

HI SmallerMe, Yes we had 7 weeks, the first one is almost over, so 14lbs would be 2 lbs a week. I hope you got a laugh out of my last message.........and if I don't answer you right away, it is because I forgot that I was Sara.......LOL

Hubby weighs 192.6 for his starting weight. His goal is 186 lbs for this challenge. So he wants to lose 6.6 lbs. Just wanted to let you know. My weight has not gone down YET (and YET is the operative word here!) but it WILL!!! Thanks again!!

Hi OWF, I have update hubby.............Good Luck All, I will be posting more later, I am off to work for half a day today, and then back home to play with grandson...........oh yea and I haven't stepped on the scale either, I try to only 1 x a week.........otherwise I start worrying about it all the time..........water does funny things to us...........I only weigh in once a week, other than when I do my weigh and measure once a month at curves (I like their scale it puts me 6lbs lighter than mine LOL) and always at the same time and always without a stitch of clothing.

| Hey all! ok, i weighed in this morning at 120.5. my goal is to get below 120 and mantain. i think i am shooting for 115. this is a rather random number... i really ought to check my body fat percentage and go by that. this number just represents something to keep me in line. i might change my goal before the end to a %. for now lets just say 5.5 lbs!

Nir, We would love to have you join our challenge, even if it is just body fat percentages that you want to loose...............getting in that healthy range no matter if it is weight or percentage is what this challenge is all about.
