i am no different now than i was last weigh in. i guess this is a good thing considering i have 2 fractured ribs. i learned this on friday. its an old injury, most likely from my fall from Bob our horse over the summer. i did some freak cough thing on thursday and lost most of my ability to breath with comfort. spent all friday in er waiting to be seen. so i am down for exercising at least for a few weeks, given that i had no idea i was hurt, now i have to let the "bridge" i somehow broke start to heal again. i am up today, that is a start. one day at a time. i havent ever broken or fractured anything, and hte pain i have been experiencing since last thursday has been incredible.

i am still trying to take care of my body, but i am not doing my normal routine by far.

i will check in on friday, hopeful that i will be able to resume at least, some physical exertions by then.....but as of today, just little movements.

I know I am late for a weigh in. But, I promise to post one tomorrow. I have been just to busy with my computer crashing to do much else besides working on it. I am glad to report that I got the parts and got it all back together and running again.

So, back on the diet train this week. I will know tomorrow how bad it is.....

Okayy so I'll join, even if late...

I've had a HECTIC summer and my mind went into stupid mode and I forgot I was doing stylethe
summer challege...

So, In spite style=of my subliminal efforts to lose weight, chaos and stress don't make it very easy to accomplish.

Therefore, I will set a small goal style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ff8888"of 3 lbs, and a goal to exerize my butt off (literally)

Starting weight :172

goal weight : 169

Height: 5'11 (sorry don't do metric)

Weigh in on fridays

Also, One quick accomplishment I want to share with everyone... I've been doing my best to eat breakfast (my parents get up WAY before I do and styleare busy by style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #00ffff"
the time I get up and my mom NEVER eats breakfast, so I usually eat fatty parmesan cheese nuked onto a french hoagie roll.) and I have only had sugar issues once in style"the past 4 months. It's easier to function and focus.

I'm sick at the moment, but nonetheless I have progress to report. 120.6lb. So a 1.2lb loss this week. I'm pleased things are starting to move again. Maybe I will make 116lb for Halloween... hard to imagine, I think these numbers under 120lb are a myth. I've never seen them anyway

CW 53.01kg (116.8lb) LW 52.67kg (116.0lb) SW 52.67kg (116.0lb). This week a gain of 0.34kg (0.75lb). For the challenge a gain of 0.34kg (0.75lb). Can I keep up my confidence that I'm not over-eating and meet my challenge target? Should I conservatevely increase calories to 2,650 or confidently to 2,700? Which one is the wiser option? I'm going with 2,700 (up 100).

I'd like to change my weigh in day to thursday, as I'll be busy on fridays for awhile. Thanks!

So I weighed myself today. Haven't been feeling the best and eating less this week, and paired with the small exersize i've done, I've lost a whopping .4 lbs. it's something I guess...

CW 53.25kg (117.3lb) LW 53.01kg (116.8lb) SW 52.67kg (116.0lb).

This week a gain of 0.24kg (0.53lb). For the challenge a gain of 0.58kg (1.28lb).

Two weeks to go. Colour me YELLOW I'm at 65% to goal and I think I have a chance to hit my challenge goal weight! 2,700 calories is still new territory and I'm sticking here for at least another week.

Earlier this week I got nervous when I realised that this would be the right number of calories to eat if I kept up my exercise (Very Active = 'Hard exercise or sports 6-7 days a week') AND wanted to maintain a weight of 158lb (11st 4lb, or 71.7kg). Hello? that's 40lb or 1/3 more of me! I had better not get used to eating 2,700 unless my personal experience proves the formulas to be wrong. Clearly however I need to eat this much to ensure I gain at approximately 1lb/month, at least it appears to be the case at this moment.

All talk of calories here assumes the reader understands there are various things I no longer count. Today these included samples of crackers with cheese at the supermarket, black coffees, a variety of vegetables in my huge salad.

I wasn't home yesterday to weigh in, so here I am today.

119.8lb

Not much of a loss, but it's definitely comforting to see that <120lb is not a myth after bouncing off 120lb for two or three weeks. :) Woo! I think it's going to be a bit of a push to reach goal this time, unless I really start to take it seriously... I actually feel inspired to do some cardio, although I am a *little* concerned about doing so with my new medication. Any advice?

I don't know if I believe the scale or not, but 2 consecutive readings this morning came up with

161.8

My weight while dressed when I came home tonight was 163.8, so maybe it wasn't a fluke.

CW 53.96kg (118.9lb) LW 53.25kg (117.3lb) SW 52.67kg (116.0lb). This week a gain of 0.71kg (1.56lb). For the challenge a gain of 1.29kg (2.84lb). This week might be a fluctuation or it might be the average catching up with recent gains. Only one week left for this challenge and I have currently overshot my target gain by 0.9lb. A one-month view shows a dramatic gain of over 4lb. I'm scaling down intake to 2,500 calorie until further notice in the search for some stability.

Definitely moving again. I think it's pretty unlikely that I'll meet my goal by next week. But who knows? Tom is at work for the next six days so that should help a little. Woo.

Hoping to get my hair cut this week too, that should help... ;)

Wow. Now that's something I never thought would happen! :D

P.S. I can see it takes a lot of guts to try to gain weight - I'm impressed.

CW 54.37kg (119.8lb) LW 53.96kg (118.9lb) SW 52.67kg (116.0lb).

This week a gain of 0.41kg (0.90lb). For the challenge a gain of 1.70kg (3.74lb). This week's weigh-ins similar to last weeks and as a result continue to pull the average upwards (as it has yet to come up and meet my actual weigh-ins which were in the range 54.5 to 55.5 with a 7-day mean of 54.79). This is the last weigh-in for the challenge. Having set a 2lb goal I gained 3.74lb so I over-shot by 87% naturally I'm concerned "it isn't all muscle".

On September 21st I had a 'local low' of 51.91kg, so average weight moved up 2.46kg (5.42lb) in 40 days (5.7 weeks) or 0.43kg (0.95lb) gain per week during this most recent gain spurt.

Having gained 3.74lb for the challenge and 5.42lb in the very recent past, I will actually be OK with a stall in the rate of gain, some stability as it were. A minor loss would be fine too, as long as over the 4 months (September through to December) there is still an overall gain of 4lb showing. Technically that means as long as the next challenge ends up showing a gain of 0.26lb I'll be "on course".

My strategy is to continue with 2,500 calories for as long as it is not upsetting my sensibilities. I only tried this number for one week on the rush to increase calories and for one week just now when seeking stability. A longer experiment will tease out whether this number gives me a slow and steady gain or maintenance and as just stated for the moment either is fine. It is also a "politically correct" amount to have (especially in the United Kingdom) as apparently this is how many calories the typical non-dieting man should be eating.

The longer-term view: 14 months ago I was at a low of 50.75 so a gain of 3.62kg (7.97lb) averaging at 0.26kg (0.57lb) a month for the period. I no longer appear to be "stuck"

Despite being 117.4lb most of this week, my final weigh in is 118.6lb - No Change

My average body fat went from 25.53% to 24.11% over the course of this challenge. Obviously my method of measuring that isn't accurate [just the built in thing on my scales] - but it's the relative change that I'm interested in.

Thanks again, Nir! Well done everyone <3
