| As of Monday the 9th of August I am going to start the 100 push up 6 week challenge. I have been looking for a good way to get my arms in better shape and I think this will do the trick. The program looks good, you only do the push ups 3 days a week. I challenge all ya'll to join me!

| blah! finished the push ups for today, and it was hard work. I'm still sore from Monday I cannot imagine what I am going to feel like tomorrow, I think i will repeat the first week next week too. I don't want to push so hard that I don't want to do it anymore. But I did do 4 in a row twice without stopping, that is double what I normally do!

That challenge is something that is on my short list of things to do. Seeing someone else doing it does motivate me to start the program myself, but right now with my weight lifting routine, I don't see how I could work it in. Please keep posting the updates though. When I see you go from 4 to 20 in a couple of weeks, it might make me reconsider my plan.
If you don't mind me asking, could you share your stats? I'm assuming based on your screen name that you are female.

Tontus - You're right I am a female. I'm 5'1" and currently 142. I'm super curvey and I don't really want that to change so my goal is 130. I started my weight loss after I had my baby and I was over 180 pounds. I've come a long way and I have decided to take on a 5k and the 100 push up challenge to help me kick the last couple pounds. Oh I am also 23 years old. I have never really been this much into fitness before, but I am lvoing it!
PS - my arms are more sore than my abs today, my abs barely hurt at all. I'm glad we have rest days in between.

| I did my push ups earlier today, and really it is getting easier to do! I did 5 today, and I did 4 and i was not shaking that bad! I was going to repeat the first week but now I don't know, I cannot believe how much better I am doing! This was a good idea!

| Arms are a little sore today but not as bad as I thought. I cannot believe I more than doubled the amount of pushups I could do in just one week. And even though my arms are sore I feel the muscle growing! I wish I could have found the challenge sooner!

| No push ups today but my arms are just a little sore. I want to keep track of how I feel everyday. Tomorrow is my break day from exercise, and by the time Monday rolls around I think I will be able to do week 2! Feeling strong.

I'm totally impressed with your doing just 5 pushups. Can't even do one---never could. Go for it!

| Mommyphone, you go girl. I have been working on it for 8 months and I still can not do a single full pushup. I can do 30 from the bench which is a little more challenging than doing a "girl" push up but still no real pushup. So I am impressed.

Well I decided to go ahead and start this challenge. I need a change from my current routine which has kind of stalled anyway, so maybe this will help jumpstart things again. I just did the initial test and managed 29, so I'll be starting with week 3.
I'm also thinking of doing the 200 sit up challenge on the off days from this challenge.

| Did the first day of week 2 today. 6 push ups - now this was making my arms shake again. But 6 push ups wow not bad for only being able to do 2 for the initial test! Going good...

Starting on week 3 wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I'm in column 3, so it was sets of 14,18,14,14 and max. My max today was 27.2 before I collapsed on the floor. That's 87 pushups in one day, which I'm pretty sure is more than I've ever done in one month.
Anyone know what % of our body weight we are actually lifting?

| I have seen anywhere from 50-70% of total body weight it sounds like it depends on who you talk to, and if you are doing push ups correctly

Did week 3 day 2 tonight - 101 total pushups. Like Monday, I had an unusually early start this morning so I was pretty tired when I got home from work 12 hour later but I forced myself to stick to the schedule.

| I kind of wish I would have tried this a year and a half ago when I couldn't do a single pushup. I started lifting weights about a year ago, and I never thought about testing myself with pushups during that time. I think it would be really cool to see that number increase the way you get to.

| Well I just finished week 3 day 3. I might need to repeat the week next week. I struggled on my 2nd set to reach 30, and I'm not even sure that last counted as a pushup. Then on the 5th set I was supposed to do atleast 28 and I dropped out on number 26.

| Good job! I admit I didn't do mine today I am going to do them tomorrow instead. I haven't been able to run all week so I ran 1.5 miles without stopping, and now I am too tired to do the push ups. This week has been really hard, alot harder than the first week. I think I am going to redo this week. Just to build up a little more.

I am redoing week 2, and I'm glad I am it was still a big struggle to do 6, redoing week 2 should help build up a little more strength before I go on.
PS- Good news! I have dropped below 140 - now down to 138! 8 pounds to go...feeling good today!

Losing will help make the pushups easier also. I looked at week 4 and decided to give it a go. The first 4 sets went just fine, but on the last one I faded at 26 when I should have done 30. In all fairness, this is the fourth day for me, and all 4 days started with me having to go into work early. After a 12 hour day, I'm pretty tired to begin with. By the way, did you look ahead at all? By week 5 we'll be doing 9 sets.

| Week 4 day 2 started off good. 25,29,25,25,30. I was supposed to do atleast 36 on the last set, but I lost it after 30.

Better than I have done . I have had a crazy week and put my exercise challenges on hold until I get everything under control. I never thought I would miss my running and push ups but I do. Next week I am going to start running on mwf and push ups on tts. I think this will work better with my schedule.

Dang it, my post got lost in cyber-space. Let's try this again. Looks like I'll be redoing week 4 next week. It was such a struggle for me getting through the first 4 sets, I didn't even bother trying the minimum 40 5th set.

Hey! Sounds like you're doing great, even if you're finding it difficult. I think I'll be joining you! I like that it's very easy to record progress and is pretty simple in terms of finding time to do it.
Having said that... I can't even do one. It's embarassing.

Needless to say I'll be starting on Week 1... with knee push ups. I can only improve, right?

Welcome to the challenge! Because of my terrible week last week I will be doing week 2 again this week - but planning on moving to week 3 next week. If it keeps raining I will do push ups today and running tomorrow, but I would rather like to run today. Will check in later...

| Day 2 of week 4 started out great, but once again I ran out of gas on the last set. Once again I woke up early and spent all day fatigued and fighting to stay awake. I don't know why this keeps happening MW&F, but if it continus I think I'll need to switch push up days.

Thought I'd report in once a week. I completed week one yesterday with knee push-ups. It's getting easier.
More exciting though, on Thursday I managed to do one proper push up! I started to doubt myself as I couldn't do it again the rest of the day, though. Yesterday [Friday] I could do one, and managed it several times. This morning, though, I had a go first thing and I managed five, only managed to follow that with two, and just now four. I'm excited by how quick progress actually is. :D
I think I'll only have to go through to the end of week two with knee push-ups before I feel ready to start this properly. Woo!

| I skipped yesterday since I got a call at 3:15 am and ended working a 15 hour day. No chance push-ups were going to happen after that. So I did week 4 day 3 this morning and it went pretty good. 29,33,29,29 and then 36. I supposed to do at least 40, but I think I'm moving on to week 5 next week anyway.

Welcome sunshine.
I forgot to check in yesterday. I did week 5 day 1, but I dropped down to column 2 to do it. Today I did crunches. I'm doing my own version since I really don't care about doing 200. I did 40,50,40,40 and 40. After that I played a round of golf on the wii and ran in place during the load times between holes. I plan on playing another round tonight and do squats/lunges/dead lifts every 2 or 3 holes. It's already 8:30 and I'm only up to 1300 or so cals, so today will go a long way to making up for my horrible 3 day weekend.

| Dang, I can't imagine running 2.5 miles even if I was being chased by an axe murderer. That's impressive. Week 5 day 2 is done for me. Was going really easy until I realized I was only supposed to rest 45 seconds. The second half was much harder doing it the right way. I also did some curls, tricep extensions and shoulder presses inbetween rounds of Wii golf.

| Wow week 5, that is great! I am on week 3 day 1 and it was a horrible miserable fail! The most I had done is 8 then they ask me to do 12! Aghhhh! Oh well I am sticking to it! I have decided to just stay on this day until I can do it. I never thought I would be able to run 2.5 miles, and it was tough - but my 5k is in a month. i cannot beleive it is here already! I am nervous, but all I have left to do is add a little over a half mile to get up to the 5k distance. I can totally do it! Plus I am down to 136 - 6 pounds to go!

| After finishing week 5 tonight, I've decided I will be repeating it next week. Once again my hours have changed and it's kicking my butt right now. Up at 4 and out the doorat 4:30am and if I'm lucky I'm home at 6:00pm otherwise 6:30. I do the pushups first thing after I get home, but I'm already exhausted by that point. Oh well, the money's good and it helps control the calorie intake.

This is an interesting challenge that I'd never heard of so I checked out the info about it. I think this might be something that I will start next week. I actually like doing push ups. I did do the inital test and was able to do 10 push ups, though that 10th one probably didn't count. I did do proper push ups, not knee ones. My lower back was hurting with each push up which I assumed was due to weak back muscles but maybe my push up form needs some work.??
Did I read that there is a sit up challenge too? I'll have to go check that out too.

| Noooo, I just got distracted by various things [including climbing up fells on holiday, there was no way I wanted to do push ups at the end of each day of that]. I'm planning on starting again today - not sure whether it'll be real push ups or knee ones, or what week, but I guess I'll figure that out when I get down to it later :)

What's a fell? I'm guessing it's English for mountain?
Anyway, I looked at week 6 and decided I should repeat week 5 yet again based on falling just short last Friday. I am starting to see some results, especially immediately after finishing a set.

| Sorry I have been a major slacker. I was doing so good too. My life kind of fell apart about a week and a half ago, and now I am picking up the pieces. I have lost alot if not all of my motivation, but today is the first day I feel like I have a little. I'm starting to eat again - which is good, so I am thinking maybe if I feel like I have enough energy tomorrow I will start up again. I cannot today, the loss of appetite has really been giving me a lack of energy. Boo. Anyway I just wanted to let you know I am still here, and just say good job for keeping with it!

Fell is an old Nordic word for mountain that gets used a lot in the north of England. It feels silly saying mountain for what you could call 'bloody big hills' ;) Especially the ones that you could basically walk all the way up, without even scrambling. I suppose it's some kind of inferiority complex for having little mountains...
I'm doing terribly at this challenge, it keeps slipping my mind. Even after last week when I said I'd get back to it, I didn't. So, I've just started again. Week 1, easiest column, but with regular push ups now instead of lady ones. I'm not very good at this!

| After missing Monday because I worked late, I decided to do week 5 again but this time I'm doing the third column. It was much easier than I thought it was going to be which surprised me because it hnad 2 sets with 40 each.
