I am currently in a program to go from not running at all to running a 5k.  My race is on October 9th 2010.  I want to go the entire race without walking.  Looking for someone who wants to take on this challenge with me!

I run at night but I know I wont get a chance to write later.  So tonight I am going to run 1/2 miles 3 time divided by 1/6 of a mile of walking.  Looking forward to it.  By the end of the week, i will be running a mile without stopping.  This plan really works if you stick to it, it is very exciting!

I did get a chance to write, and the run went great!  Feeling good and tired now though.  Any day I run I sure sleep better!

Ran a mile today again without stopping!  Feeling good about it too!  This 5k plan is really working well!  As long as I keep with the plan I know I will be able to run a 5k by October!

Missed my run yesterday.  Got busy, at the last minute our friends invited us to a Dave Matthews Concert.  Luckily we were able to find a sitter.  It was fun but I did miss my run :nono:.  It is ok I will start again tomorrow...

Pushups yes, running no. Sorry, me and my 2 packs a day won't be joining you on this one.

 I kind of think I am crazy myself.  I usually tell people it was a moment of insanity when I signed up for it, but I really want to go through with it.

Ran another 1.5 miles today!  Feeling better!  The more I run the more i see how much running is mental more than a physical thing.  Hopefully I can remember that when I go for 2 miles next week.

Hiya! I just found this challenge and think it would be wonderful for me to take on.

I've been running 6 days a week for the past month, each day about 1.5 to 2 miles.

However, this routine is getting a little dull for me, so in September I'm going to try and switch things up and really get to running 3 miles a day.

Congrats on all the amazing progress!

Today I only ran one mile, but it was awfully hot, and I ran an extra mile on the elliptical, which was surprisingly difficult!
My mile time is about 8min 30 seconds at the moment, and that was under the worst conditions. It must have been 100 degrees outside while I was running. x.x

Tomorrow is my 2 mile day!

Good Job on the mile time, better than me!  I am just starting out though, and even though my pace is a little slow I am exciting to see my endurance getting longer and longer!  I only run 3 days a week, but I am planning a 2 mile run on each of those days...I can do it!

Another 2 mile run!  Today was a great day!  Offical weigh in down to 137, 7 pounds to go!  I fit into a size 6 for the first time in over 2 years, and I ran a 2 mile run!  Feeling good.  I also felt like I could have run farther, which is great!  Next week I will bump it up to 2.5 miles!

You're doing awesome!

Yesterday I ran 2.9 miles (I wasn't exactly sure how far I was running, and I had to check later on my computer. Stupid .1 of a mile!)

I managed to run it in 27 minutes! I felt pretty good about that. Hopefully today I'll be running 3 full miles. ^^

Do you run on a track, neighborhood, or on a treadmill?

I found that on tracks and treadmills it's much harder for me to run as far. =/ But I do run on the occasionally to try and get myself used to all sorts of running.

I run at a park here in town.  It is a huge park that is 1.5 miles around the whole thing.  I love it becuase it actually has the mile markers on the ground for the runners/walkers to see.  Usually there are alot of people there, I really enjoy it - I have improved so much too, at the begining of the whole thing I couldn't even run a 1/4 of a mile without stopping to breathe, I have learned running is very much a mental just as much as a physical thing.  Hopefully going for a 2.5 mile run today:grin:!

Great job on the 2.5 mile run! a few days ago I did a total 5k. ^^ I was so excited!

The past few days running has been kinda slow and bad though, simply because i'm so exhausted by the end of the day. I took a 3 hour nap after I got home from school.

I never do that! I proabably should start watching what I eat more and making sure that it's healthy. :apple:
