No scales, but I've probably gone up - too much fattening food about, nice wine, not enough exercise, too busy!
Will weigh next weekend, so I'll see what I can do in the coming week ....
Thanks Nir and good luck every one! Have a lovely 4th July weekend on the other side of the Atlantic - it's nice weather here in the south of England ...

Sorry the graphic went away for a couple of days. It is now back. We also now have the Summer Weight Loss Challenge 2010 which sees us through to the end of August. If anyone wants to come back with a final weigh-in for this challenge I will be doing further updates to incorporate this.

My last weigh-in for the challenge.
CW 52.38kg (115.4lb) LW 52.51kg (115.7lb) SW 52.23kg (115.0lb). Loss for the week (-0.3lb). Gain for the challenge (+0.3lb).
My big achievement during this challenge period has been to consistently increase my calories (even during the short period of time when my weight was actually increasing - this was the most challenging period).

My weight has responded by being largely stable, which is a disappointment in terms of getting stronger and growing larger but is gratifying as it means I can have more food than I thought I could.

Looking at the last 10 months, it appears as though I've been "standing still" for the last 6 of them. The original plan of gaining 1lb/month would have seen me gain from 111.8lb to 121.8lb by now (and this clearly hasn't happened).

What I'd like to do is to continue to increase my calories so that I'm at 2,600 by the end of the next challenge. However as much as I'm enjoying this science experiment of establishing my maintenance and weight-gain calories, I am being pulled in different directions. Someone has asked me to work towards not counting my calories. This makes me feel somewhat uncomfortable. I don't want to be out of control. If I do go down that road and if as a result weight increases but faster than I am comfortable with then I may well do the non-counting thing in a way that leads to weight maintenance or even loss instead of gain. These are things it will take me a while to process and work through. I see this person again on August 23rd so I have to figure it all out by myself.
I want to gain weight. But more important than that, I want to be in control of my weight. The bottom line is that if I can only have one of these then I'll pick control over gain.

Final weigh in is 172.6. After spending 3 days in the 170.x range, I was greeted by 2 days around 173. I'm hoping it is mostly water weight and some muscle gain. My body fat was 15.8% today so that is a good sign I guess. Also, I'm now up to 4.5 pull ups in a row after going 38 years without ever being able to do 1.

| hey congrats tontus on the pullups they are tough something too that might help with em is negative pullups if your not already doing them where you static grip the bar in the pulled up position and then slowly lower your weight till you are at the pull up position lower super slow like 5-6 seconds or more it should take to get down to the start this really works well for getting your pullup number super high I would shoot for 3 sets of 3 every 3 days sounds silly but works great good luck man!!
