Sounds like fun, I think I will try and do 20 bench pushups every day. I've done them Tuesday and Wednesday so far so I'll shoot for a week, ending next Monday also.

Ok you guys, I'm in for 20 half pushups a day starting with 10 tonight, (it is 8pm already ) ending Monday.   By half pushups I mean starting from extended arms, going down half way, then back up.

Nancy, you and I are going to kick this push up thing yet. I still can't do a single one from the floor but I can do them on the bench....baby steps I guess.

I got through the 10 pushups last night, but not all at once---in sets of 3,3,2,2.

I am going to try to work on my abs for the entire time that I am on either the stairs or the elliptical machine this week.

I've discovered that you can keep your abs in a tightened state while you exercise on cardio equipment. You can kill 2 birds with one stone! Its very hard to do for extended periods of time. You need a break every few minutes...

Speaking of birds, I have a new friend that perches outside one of my window. He looks at his reflection and sits there. I was able to get this from only about 1 foot away....

Hes beautiful Tours! :) We have a load of blue birds, vibrant blue and yellows too, but i know not what they are for sure....we have bird baths around and they love it. I can hear them all out right now, the early birds get those worms! lol...

I love my walking with Leslie videos for the same reason as you talked about, its that all over body workout that tones and takes the fat away, i love to do the 4 steps because its always keeping my muscles tight, in my abs, my tush, my legs, arms etc...i am always using all the areas of my body. I am amazed how much my middle has disappeared in this journey and i truly believe its got a lot to do with how she integrates the strength into the walking routines :)

Welcome to our little new club! :)

Tours, what a beautiful photo, thanks for posting it. Glad you decided to join the new challenge.

So far I have done my 20 push ups a day....from the bench so they are really only like 1/2 push ups.

Oh boy, met w/ the trainer today and I am doing my pushups incorrectly. Maybe I won't be able to do 20--correctly, we'll see.

ok, so i was slacking this week, really just spaced that i was assigned by myself to do 40 bicycle crunches per day thru this coming monday. I finally got caught up today when i did my 3 mile walk, I did standing ones this time, and I counted one per leg and did well over the 120 that i had gotten behind on. I will feel it since i havent done a workout like that in weeks. :)

That gets me to Sunday and Monday, 80 more by monday. No problem, i just have to remember! :)

How is the rest of the world doing???

I failed miserably at this challenge (20 half pushups) this week.  Not because I couldn't do them, but because I wouldn't do them.  I'm convinced now it is a psychological hangup about pushups.

I'm resetting my goal to 10 half pushups this week.  More realistic.

hey nance, trying is the only way we can learn and become more comfortable with them! i cant do a pullup to save my life, literally, if i were hanging out of a window from a 10 story building, i couldnt pull my arse up! lol....i havent ever been able to do one. Next to a pushup I take the pushup! :O

as for me, i failed and then slammed out the days i missed on Friday I think it was, saturday i got my 40, sunday i got my 40, monday i got my 40. Tuesday, yesterday I managed to get in 30 because i was dogpiled by the 4 dogs and a kid, so that turned into puppy pushes over my head, and kid presses with my legs, and then some wrestlinng with all of them! lol....counts in some way i suppose! :)

this week, i am still on that track of the 40 bicycle crunches. I am not sure why the dogs want to eat my head when i attempt them, but honestly they jump on me like its play time. (i know, think smarter than them and put them outside! lol)

I think you are right, when I try to do them I kind of say this sucks, I'm not doing this. Well guess what...with my attitude I still can't do one and I think I may never be able to. I guess I don't see the benefit...squats aren't fun but they give me a better butt, bicep curls and triceps lifts can hurt but I want sexy arms. I just can't find that thing that will convince me I am going to benefit. Yes, I know it is an excellent overall exercise but I want specific motivation :dizzy:. Anyway, I haven't given up but I am still doing them on the bench.
