Zas... Who'd be a woman eh?? What we have to put up with!
Ever notice how all of women's problems start with men?
MENtal illness, MENstrual cramps, MENtal breakdown, MENopause.
And when we have real problems, it's HISterectomy! Oh and don't forget the "GUY"necologist!
I hope you are feeling brighter today and I managed to make you smile.. Chin up girl
Elina... Have a wonderful trip! I am sooooooo jealous!!!
Eva... I haven't managed to find a 10 cal chicken broth in the uk either. Here's what I use as alternatives... The cartons of ready made stock are great for using in recipes and are all very low cal and fat free but I use most often the knorr chicken stock cubes as they are only 7 calories each
Oxo veg stock cube 8 cals
Oxo chicken stock cube 15 cals
Oxo Beef stock cube 17 cals
Knorr chicken stock cube 7 cals
Knorr Vegetable Stock Cube 7 cals
Knorr Touch Of Taste Chicken Bouillon 180Ml per 100ml as prepared Calories: 5
Knorr Beef Stock Gel Pot Serving Size: 100ml as prepared Calories: 5
Knorr Simply Stock Chicken 450ml Ready to use carton per 100ml Serving: Calories 6 (Tesco/Asda)
Knorr Simply Stock Beef 450ml Ready to use carton per 100ml Serving: Calories 6 (Tesco/Asda)
Knorr Simply Stock Vegetable 450ml Ready to use carton per 100ml Serving: Calories 3 (Tesco/Asda)
Butterfly... I love the wise mother hen... I may just use that
My poor dog is still lame and not even attempting to put the leg down... though he seems better in himself.. I am beginning to worry now that it is more than just a sprain

Lorriane, you are so funny with listing all those MENproblems! Very true...men are to blame!lol
Many thanks as well for your help with the stock. I will get the knorr cubes then next time I am outside...I really think it will help to have a nice broth with herbs to calm my appetite, especially now it is freezing here and we need something hot.
Oh, so sorry for your cute doggie. I hope it is just his phobia to try to use that leg and not real pain. I hope he gets well very very soon! Are you still going for your walks??

Day 3,Cycle 16 for me. POP on the food, but not so much on the workouts. I don't really have a "good" excuse for not working out.... I just don't have the drive/motivation lately, it's BORING, there are ALWAYS things left "undone" that are calling me (I need a maid...or 2!) and I feel guilty leaving the "undone" and going to workout, AND we are always running to basketball games. It will be SO much easier when basketball is over. I'm going to keep trying to get it in, though! NOT quitting, just refusing to beat myself up over it. Feeling bad "for me" used to trigger the dreaded eating binge...to make "me.... feel better" and I do not want to "go there". 'Ya know?
Woke up this morning with a couple inches of snow on the ground again. It's such a strange winter. It snows, melts, snows, rains, sun shines & warm, snows, melts....etc. I never know WHAT to expect.
Zas ~ Oh, Zas... !!

You'll make ME cry !

Cheer up, Zas! Are you feeling any better today? MEN...yep...agreeing with Elina. In fact, MY hubby and I also had a little tiff last night too ....over the dumbest thing. I have trouble keeping my mouth SHUT! LOL. Yes...he was also in the wrong ....BUT....it was such a little thing, the whole tiff would have never happened had I just kept my big trapper shut. LOL! Live and learn, I guess. I'm sorry you are missing your son. I know a little bit of that, with our oldest off at college. She does get to come home though at least once a month, so I'm sure it's nothing like what you are going through. When did you see him last? Was it towards the end of last year? I'm sorry, I can't remember. Way to go staying OUT of that freezer and going for the cottage cheese instead . Welll....you take care, stay pop, get your workouts in (actually raises those "feel-happy" brain chemicals, and get your sleep
Elina ~ OH! GOOD!! So, we won't have to miss you toooo terribly bad if you'll still be able to post from your tablet! That's awesome . Did you say this was a business trip for your hubby? So...will he be in meetings some? Have a fabulous flight and enjoy the beach and sunshine! Oh, and as far as the PB episodes...no, they are not playing in order . It's really, really strange! I can't figure it out, they are so mixed up. So...I'm going to stick to the dvd's only. Hey, I Love pop chips (LOL! perfect name, huh?)...BUT....they have almost 1g. or carbs PER CHIP ! THAT supposedly would not work for "my" metabolism (according to Goglia ). I have been checking the snacks in my books and I can have Bran Crisp Bread with feta spread (feta, LF cream cheese, onion, garlic, fresh ground pepper, salt, and a little Greek yogurt) or I can top them with no-sugar almond or peanut butter, regular cheese slices, or salty avacado slices. I also discovered that you can use the Mama Lupe or La Tortilla Factory tortillas to MAKE low-carb chips. Then, I could have those with guacamole or a Greek yogurt dip (I love it mixed with salsa)! Anywaaay... I'll figure it out. I am already thinking about the dinner out with hubby for Valentine's Day. Normally, I would order something like smothered chicken with loaded mashed potatoes. This time, I'm thinkin' baked salmon, steamed broccoli, a side salad, and a glass of wine. You're right though....my thinking is changing already!
Okay, I'm off for lunch....especially after all that FOOD talk! LOL! Cooked venison cutlets with onions, FF organic beef broth, and chopped tomatoes and peppers all night in the crockpot. I have "beef" and regular cheese slices on my next menu. So...it's the yummy meat, tomato/onion/sauce, topped with shredded mozzarella for lunch and I think I'll add a tiny lettuce salad with Truvia-sweetened apple cider vinegar with garlic and fresh-ground pepper, tomatoes, onions, and a sprinkle of my lowfat Cabot's cheddar cheese (I CAN'T believe that stuff is not the full-fat cheese! I actually PREFER it to the regular, it is that good!).
Lorraine ~ Oh my goodness....I laughed SO hard over your "men" words! SO FUNNY!!!! Also, thanks for the bouillon cubes info. We can also get some of those here in the states. They would be so convenient! You could even take them to restaurants and just order hot water (like for hot tea). What a great idea !!
Talk to you ladies later! Stay POP and have a great day/night !!!

Hey Guys!
yes I am in sunny Florida but not at the beach! BUT I do have WIFI so I am a happy girl. YEs, my husband came here to go to a huge GIANT international builder show...it is amazing...IF you are either building a state of the art house or are a builder that builds those houses. If you are me...then well...it's not so amazing.
but I am ok...tomorrow I will stay at the hotel while he comes back here. It's only till 5 so we'll have the whole evening to hang out.
I'm a little tired being that I woke up at 2am but I'm ok. I found a nice big empty meeting room and set up shop with my tablet...free wifi! Oh, I already mentioned tht...well I'm excited!
Ok...now business.
Dear Butterfly...I am going to play tough love with you right now. Everything you just listed that is stopping you from working out is an excuse. If you want results, you must stick with it. Yes, we've been through this a million times, you'll still lose weight w/o working out but the benefits of working out are not there if you don't do it. Give yourself 20, 30, 45min a day...THAT's it! That's all it takes. Find something you like. Now look, of course I much rather lay in bed then get up and workout. As much as I love my workouts, I love not working out much more. But it makes me feel good, look good, clothes fit amazing....I got rid of my muffin top...I can actually wear skinny jeans with a fitting top w/o my tummy popping over...I never thought I could do that! And that's only thanks to my semi-good diet and committment to working out.
If you have to wake up earlier, then do it...yes you're not a morning person but you know what? That's in your head! I have to mentally prepare myself every night that I will wake up and do this and this workout each day. Is it sooo hard to pull myself out of bed? Yes! But I do it.
Ok, since I have time now...I want to address your book you're talking about. I"m no expert...well actually I think I kind of am b/c I have read sooo many books in the last 20yrs. I have done sooo many diets. I even took pills....I took phen-phen! The one that was taken off the market b/c people died. So I have pretty much done it all.
I counted anything that could be counted....calories...points...fat...carbs...whatever. I finally came to a conclusion that your body doesn't actually count calorie per calorie how much you eat and burn...it's all an estimate. People put those numbers as labels. Having said that...who actualy knows if you are really that type that the book labeled you as?
I know that you need to find a way to eat FOREVER. I was like tht...when I was on a diet, I was great..I just didn't know how to live w/o a diet so I went bac to my bad habits. It took a long time to find what works for me. For me it is giving up grains and I am perfectly fine with that. I have to be creative sometimes but just like anything, I am used to it. i brought hard boiled eggs, cucumbers and cheese sticks to the airport with me today. As well as almonds. Took a little planning but not too bad.
So...w/o complicating things...why don't you just try something simple...no counting involved.....follow the guidelines or principles (Lorraine's word :) ) of this diet. Choose foods that you can eat. Choose foods you can eat less of (grains). Pick a treat once or twice a week. That's it! Easy!
I only say that b/c when I was counting calories or points, I was so stressed...if I went a little over my goal, I felt like I failed. But I also was hungry b/c my goal of 1500 cals didn't seem enough.
You're not counting anything now! You are using your body as a guideline to tell you if you are hungry or full. So you should do thta...so much easier.
Also, I remember when I was keeping track of how many calories I consumed and how mnay I burned, I remember I wasn't losing weight and I could not understand why. I think I get it now....I was eating the wrong type of calories! for me eliminating sugar and grains really helps...you have to see what works for you.
I don't mean to sound so opinioated but you know I am! Only b/c it took so long for me to liberate myself from counting...really is liberating! As long as I stay w/in my guidelines (Fl4I rules + no grains), I am just fine! It's when I derail do I get myself in trouble..but that's a different issue.
I like reading various diet books b/c if I get one good piece of advice there, it's worth it. Just have to draw your own conclusions...there are many 'experts' out there...you are the only one who is teh expert of YOU!
Eva...so glad you worked out! BTW...forgot to write this but was thinking about it...I have never hurt myself with the bands...you're pretty safe! I did however punched myelf in the chin a couple of times when I was doing turbo kick! lol
Anita...I have to add my cents for you too. Hip hop abs I think is just a cardio workouot...you won't get his abs by simply doing that program. You need resistance training as well. And you know what helped me get rid of my tummy? Limting carbs! True story. So if I can give you advice....you should maybe do HHA plus something else for toning.
Zas, how are you? I hope your day went better today. and again congratulations on having cottage cheese for your 'comfort' food snack...I think that's awesome!
Lorraine...OMG where did you get that MENadvice? I was crackig up!! You are too funny and so very true!
I hope that Max gets better soon, I hope that it is just a sprain and nothing else. Poor boy.
How is everyone else? Serannea...how are you? Feeling better? No more sleep eating ?
Icemaidi...how is it goig by you?
Bostonchick..are you being good?
Che and CIA...how about you girls?
Wow..it is so nice to have time to write! Look how many opinions I have given out! lol Really girls I only want the best for each and every one of you. I have to share/brag but I think it's good for motivation.
I was so happy when I put on my strapless dress today b/c it is Feb and I am ready for summer! I used to dread warm weather but now I look fwd to it. Great feeling! So c'mon! Stay POP and you will reap the results by this summer!

Eva.. If it's a meaty hot drink you're after why not try a cup of Bovril.. it's fat free and just 10 cals per teaspoon which is all you need to add to a cup of boiling water for a tasty beefy drink. I know what you mean about the phobia thing with my dog as that happened after he'd been in a cast for so long when he smashed his hock. He was afraid to use the leg for some time even though it had healed just fine. That is not the case here though as the leg has swollen up more each day even though he is on anti inflammatories and regular cold compresses. I really do think it is more than just a sprain. If it continues this way tomorrow I am going to ring the vet again.
Unfortunately, I have not been for a walk since Max has been lame. I won't leave him on his own the way he is. I've only been outside the house once since last saturday and that was to take Max to the vet on monday morning. I am exercising though. I've been doing a 30 min workout twice a day plus at least 10 mins of step ups since I've been stuck in the house.
Butterfly... awwwwww thanks for the doggy hug.. that's very sweet
Zas... I hope you are feeling better
Elina... What a lovely post and sounds so like my own experience of getting slim and staying there. I don't count calories in and out either though I do check labels when shopping.. seeking out the lowest cal goodies I can find . That's why I am so clued up on the calories of most foods.. lol.. but that's a good thing as it's a good habit to adopt when dieting/maintaining to get the lowest fat/sugar or lowest calorie options.
I am addicted to those flippin' Zero noodles!! .. lol.. Yesterday I made chinese style pork stirfry with shredded leftover roast pork, sliced peppers, onions, garlic, light soy sauce, chinese 5 spice and zero noodles... was just like pork chop suey.. Gorgeous!! Today I made what I've named as Bolognoodle! which is spaghetti bolognaise but using zero noodles instead of spaghetti. I used lean beef mince, onion, mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes, garlic and herbs for the bolognaise and then stirred in the noodles for the last few mins of cooking.. I could hardly tell the difference between the noodles and spaghetti. I've also just simmered the noodles in half a cup of chicken stock and added sauted onions, peppers, garlic and seasoning... very tasty! They are sooooo filling that I can only eat a small portion which is great! They taste even better refrigerated and then reheated the next day for lunch. They seem to absorb even more flavour that way. Another good thing about them is that they are pure fibre with nothing else in them so bm's are not a problem.. guaranteed to go the next morning! I haven't needed to take my fibrogel that the doctor prescribed for my bowel condition since eating the noodles. Now I need to order a mega stock as I've already eaten the 6 packs I ordered! lol.. Hmmmmmmm I am getting over excited now.. lol.. rambled on a bit I know! lol.
I'm glad my little verse about the MEN words made you all smile... it was sent to me in an email a while ago by a friend... lol.. It is sooooooo true though!
Almost midnight here. Max is doped up with pain killers and fast asleep so time I was tucked up too.
Take care all and....

I get up and prepare to homeschool my boys. If you have to wake up earlier, then do it... Okay, my turn to be "opinionated" LOL!.........NO! LOL! and, "no it's not in my head". It is a proven, scientific fact that each person has a specific "clock". I JUST read that again in Health magazine and it said you should not even attempt working out against that, because you were setting yourself up for failure. It was specifically talking about morning people and night owls. Over the years, I HAVE tried the early morning workouts and they were never good....AND never "stuck". That's back when I was running daily and lifting 3x a week.. Ok, since I have time now...I want to address your book you're talking about. ...who actually knows if you are really that type that the book labeled you as? I am scheduled to get a blood test next week that should tell me for sure. I don't know, but it makes the most sense of anything I've read yet...and I too have read (and tried) a LOT over the years.
So...w/o complicating things...why don't you just try something simple...no counting involved.....follow the guidelines or principles (Lorraine's word :) ) of this diet. Choose foods that you can eat. Choose foods you can eat less of (grains). Pick a treat once or twice a week. That's it! Easy!

But I also was hungry b/c my goal of 1500 cals didn't seem enough. Yeh, I mentioned the wt. watchers awhile back(points) and decided against it for that very reason. I thought I had mentioned maybe before that I was planning on following the fl4i principles still?? Maybe I just thought it in my head. LOL! That is the conclusion I've come to also, but with the low-carb/good-carb-healthy fat choices and especially at least 4 mini-meals, stopping when satisfied AND the water, cran-lemon water, and green tea still. The one or two treats will be on the weekends .
You're not counting anything now! You are using your body as a guideline to tell you if you are hungry or full. So you should do thta...so much easier.
I guess I should have clarified with the Turn up the Heat(Goglia) book....I was never planning on doing his "plan" to the letter (ie measuring the food)...just the "principles" and the food choices listed for "my metabolism type". I DESPISE counting calories and measuring food. Yep...NOT planning on doing THAT again! Have you read the other book I mentioned? Fat to Skinny Fast and Easy! (Varrieur). It explains "why" you are doing so well with no sugars and no grains(actually, so does the Goglia book) : Quote from the book "ALL foods containing carbohydrates turn into SUGAR... gram for gram. It doesn't matter whether the sugar begins as a complex carbohydrate sugar (found in flour and grains), ....All break down to the same thing-SUGAR-which in turn becomes glucose. Too much glucose and BAM!! You get fat or worse, get fat and develop type 2 diabetes."
Also, I remember when I was keeping track of how many calories I consumed and how mnay I burned, I remember I wasn't losing weight and I could not understand why. I think I get it now....I was eating the wrong type of calories! Which is exactly what the Goglia book says....the right food calories for your metabolism. for me eliminating sugar and grains really helps...Sounds like you are the same "type" as I am....74% of the population is supposed to be that.
I like reading various diet books b/c if I get one good piece of advice there, it's worth it. Just have to draw your own conclusions...there are many 'experts' out there...you are the only one who is teh expert of YOU! Yep, TOTALLY agree. Well...gotta go, oldest home from college and just got back from the store. Enjoy your relaxing hotel and warm weather!

day 5 today......
made up with hubby !!!!!
elina....nice to hear from you and to know that you have WiFi !!!!!
enjoy your trip.
taking your exercise DVDs , boiled eggs.....woooaahhhh !!!!!!!! you really had me girl !!!! what dedication !!!! that is pure motivation .......i would have taken this vacation as an excuse to relax from everything ....and that means everything.....lol.....
i too hated counted calories never could get it right especially after binging....lol......this diet seems to be fine with me......especially due to you guys......
10 yrs back i had lost a whooping 50 lbs...that was in India, i had joined a famous dieticians program......but after loosing in 8 mths i could not stick to it....and thus gained back all, that too with a surplus !!!! .... the diet mainly consisted of veges....and no wheat but different type of cereals were given ...because we Indians are used to having chapatis.. .....so she gabe us millet flour, chick pea flour...oatmeal etc...to make them with ........meat was just 2-3 times a week !!!! i am a meat person...and thus could not stick with it in the long run !!!!
eva......how are you doing.....yesterday i was feeling sooo lazy to do workouts....i had lot of housework.....and maybe because of my mood i just didn't want to do anything !!!!! but nevertheless got my workouts done !!!!
i am so lucky to have such lovely support..... .....thank you so much for your kind words. i think tiffs are necessary to rekindle the bond...lol....after not talking for 2 days you tend to realize you cannot do without this guy.....be whatever faults he has....lol yesterday i cooked homemade chapatis with black gram lentil.......the chapatis were poured with hot ghee ( fat derived from cream of milk !!!!) lol
Indians tend to have a lot of this. i just limit it to the family ( mind you not me ) and that to only on chapatis, naans !!!!
so my hubby was a happy man......lol.....
feeling toooo sleepy, time for my second shift of nap !!!!!! butterfly Anita...will be back later for you guys !!!!

the other day we fought because i dint shut up and argued...will not go into details about what !!!
now yesterday we were in route to the mobile service center.....my blackberry broke down...and its not been 3 mths since i bought it !!!! so i needed to go to the center maybe they will give me a new one !!!! lol
anyway we have a GPS in our car ...because we are still not familiar to many routes....but the map is old so service center was not located....i said lets go to the street which the it is showing or lets call the guy !!! hubby said he saw the map on net and he knows....i didn't argue, because we had not actually made up yet....ultimately we landed up hunting for it for 1 1/2 hrs then he called the guy !!! and it was at the same street where the GPS was taking us....lol.....
then hubby said sorry and that i was right.......lol.......
well phone not fixed yet as center was closed !!!!
my son is studying in India...he is in his engineering ...3 rd year !!! i have last seen him in early sept....when we were there......he was suposed to come here in jan but due o passport issue could not come !!!! so i think now next i will see him will be in july ....that is vacation time for us and him too !!!!
have to get used to seeing him in a year, as after this year he will be applying for masters, somewhere overseas !!!!
i am pretty close to him.....my daughters mmmm maybe...but i don't share with them much as they are still immature and come to bad conclusions fast !!!
so you opened your tablet at last....its cool but yes i too still have to figure out color and how to paste our cute smileys.....
Okay, I'm off for lunch....especially after all that FOOD talk! LOL! Cooked venison cutlets with onions, FF organic beef broth, and chopped tomatoes and peppers all night in the crockpot. I actually PREFER it to the regular, it is that good!).
wow your lunch sounds amazing !!!! who says diet food can be boring.....lol
well off to do some chores....then workouts.....better get it done...as elina is there with her WiFi and plenty of free time...she will whip us!!! lol just kidding elina...i like it when you take us up !!!
anita......where are you ????? take out some time from your bf for us.....
icemaidin.....zero noodles is zero calories miracle noodles ....which i think you get in US or online ....i don't have much info about it but as you can see all other members are into it !!! i would prefer zero cake or pita bread....lol
so which day are you on ???
che......where are you ??? i know you were on a short trip !!!!
ok gotta go getting pretty late...will miss my workouts !!!

Icemaidin... Zero Noodles are Shirataki Noodles also known as Miracle Noodles. They originate from Japan and are made from a root plant called the Konjac plant. They are largely composed of the soluble fibre Glucomannan along with water, it is this fibre that adds to the health benefits of the food. The best thing is they are Calorie Free, Fat Free, Carbohydrate Free, Sugar Free, Gluten Free, Soy Free & High In Soluble Fibre! So fantastic for dieters!
The noodles are predominantly used as a pasta alternative but they are not a carbohydrate at all. They are classed as a vegetable and are made up of only water and fibre but have a similar, but slightly more gelatinous, consistency to pasta. Being relatively flavour free, they take up the flavour of whatever sauce they are combined with when cooked. Google 'Shirataki Noodles' to find out more
Zas... Glad I made you laugh and I am so pleased to hear you are feeling better and that you have made it up with your hubby . Sorry to hear you didn't get to see your son in January.. I can understand how much you miss him and how hard it is for you Focus on your workouts and staying pop and just think how much weight you can lose between now and July when you next see him.. what a surprise that would be for him!
Butterfly... Congrats on getting the tablet out of the box! lol
Elina... Good to hear you are having a nice trip and that you can still keep in touch with us... Enjoy the lovely sunshine and the rest of your trip

Good morning!
I was so tired last night....of course when you wake up at 2am, you tend to get tired at the end of the day! My husband and I went out to dinner in the cutest town near Disney World called 'Celebration'. We found it when we were here on our honeymoon with 12 of our friends (we had a whole group of friends come to our wedding from Russia so we went to Disney to entertain them). It the most perfect town I have ever seen...I think it was built for Disney executives. Everything there is perfect! So we went back to the same restaurant we went to with our friends 11 yrs ago.
Zas...I'm not being 100% perfect but I am sticking to being as good as I can under the circumstances. I ordered a Caesar salad and husband ordered spinach dip for an app so I a few chips (which I dont normally eat) and dip. So the chips were extra.
I can't take a vacation from 'being good' . This is a lifestyle for me, not a temporary state. And if I take a breakk this week, I'll get back bloated, feeling yuk and definitely not in the mood to get back to working out on Monday. So it's easier to keep going than taking a break.
Besides...my husband just left for his builder's show until 5pm so I have plenty of time! We bought some basics last night so I have cottage cheese, cheese sticks, boiled eggs (from home) and sugar free jello in case I am dying for a sweet snack. So I can't be bad even if I want to!
Butterfly...I'm definitely not a diabetes expert but I do know that diabetes is something that of course can be passed on geneticaly or acquired through an unhealthy lifestyle. It is also something that can be prevented and controlled. So to say that someone is that 'type', I don't agree with that statement. You are correct though...I am predisposed to diabetes as I have a strong family history of it (mom, grandma, aunt) and I did have justational when I was pg. My sugar now is on the high side of normal so I HAVE to be good.
Anyway..I'm sure you will find the right eating approach that works for you. It is all about trial and error. As far as working out...and this is coming from lots of books, facebook fitness groups I belong to and my own conclusion...it has to become second nature...like brushing teeth..that's not negotiable, right? So morning person or not...find the time that works for you! Hey...you wanted me to be tough on you...I was! I don't think you liked it! But hey ..my toughness has gotten Zas and Eva to workout and Anita jumping on board. Oh and you too! So there! I'm just doing my job! :)
So how do you like the tablet? I'm sure you don't love typing on it...check out amazon b/c they have keyboards that you can attach if it has a USB port. If it doesn't, you can use a bluetooth keyboard. You probably won't use it much for typing though. It's great for streaming movies and shows on it!
And I just starte playing words with friends on it, so addicting! It's scrabble but you play either with people you know or random people.
Zas..did you make those in the pic? Besides chocolate, there is nothing more I love than any kind of bread, esp flat bread! Thank goodness that's just a picture for me! I don't know how you can resist!
It sounds like you lasted a while on that diet, long enough to lose 50lbs! I have never been able to be on a diet for longer than 2 weeks and that's pushing it. I guess that's why this one is good...you are told that you can have 'off' for 3 days!
You husband...he's a typical man! Too manly to listen to you, too manly to stop and ask! Last night my husband was getting annoyed with me b/c I managed to get us lost even with a gps in my hands! Hey...I'm not a good navigator! But he has never been to shy to ask for directions.
Eva...how is working out going? Were you inquiring about broth? I saw Lorraine write something about it I make homemade broth...it is so good! I take soup bones, carrot and onion (they help keep it clear). Fill pot up with water and bring to boil...then simmer for a good 45-60min. Also season with salt/pepper to taste. Refrigerate it and any fat will harden and you can skim it. You can do the same with chicken bones. Nothing canned tastes this good!
Where is everyone else?
Anita...give us a holler when you come up for air! lol Is your daughter feeling better?
Lorraine..you are getting me antsy to try those stinking noodles! Your post of how you make them is lengthy...is the cooking process just as long or not really? I'm thinking about ordering some when I get back. How is Max?
I am really annoyed...when I was having my 'party' yesterday with my tablet at the convention center, I left a detachable piece from my charger for the tablet! That room is at the other end of the center so I am hoping my husband will go get it for me...I don't want to be tabletless! ARGH!
Ok well it is time to workout! I'm getting hungry (it's past 10:30) so I need to get it over with and eat breakfast!
I will be back since I have a whole day to myself!

Hey guys I have been meaning to tell you. I have been taking the 'super cleanse' tablets for almost 2 weeks now and WOW . I dont even think I eat as much as is coming out! Ok TMI but I know we all have had our fair share of BM problems. The first week it was good..like norma BMs but daily. this week...whoah. I finally don't feel bloated. I remember when I was younger, my stomach would be glued to my back every morning. I don't feel that too often any more even if I'm not eating much..there is a degree of bloatedness. Well not after this week! And it's very gentle, I don't have cramping. BUT when I have to go, I have to RUN! So I recommend it. It says not to take for longer than 30 days so I guess it's meant to be a cleanse. I will finish this bottle and probably repeat in a few months. I wish I could take them for the rest of my life! It is called super cleanse and I got it on amazon.

Elina... Sorry for the 'lengthy' post about the noodles! It's just that I think they are a dieter's dream.. as I suppose any decent food with zero calories would be! No, they don't take long to prepare... rinse in warm water then place in a pan of cold water. Bring to boil and simmer for 4-5mins and then add to your recipe for the last couple of mins.
Thanks for asking after Max.... He is booked in for an xray first thing tomorrow morning. After being up again most of the night with him applying cold compresses and speaking with the vet today, he agrees that it's not just a sprain and needs further investigation.

Hi, Girls!
Day 4, Cycle 16. POP so far and into a new size of jeans…size 10 . Yes… I FINALLY opened my tablet! LOL! My smarty-pants husband said, “Oh…opening it SO sooooon.....it's only been......WHAT....... a month!?” haha…very funny.
Anita ~ Oh, I was so hoping that wasn’t the reason you were away! I was sure wondering, though. I hope your sweetie is on the mend now. Looking forward to having you back with us. Take Care and get some REST!
Zas ~ Oh! I have SO “been there…done that” with the hubby/navigating/directions/GPS scenario…the WHOLE bit!! I laughed, realizing it IS a “guy thing”! I’m not the ONLY one, then? LOL! Except, I don’t know if I’ve ever heard those “words”... “I’m sorry... YOU were RIGHT.” LOL! Way to go, for your hubby! I laughed at your line, “....i didn't argue, because we had not actually made up yet....” LOL! Walkin’ on those “eggshells”, huh (treading lightly)? LOL! Also been “there”!
Oh, yes...NOW I remember the story with your son and his passport problems, etc. I hope these next months just fly by for you and July comes SOON! Wow, just think…you could be 30 or 40….or……50 pounds lighter by then ! He wouldn’t even recognize you !
Lorraine ~ Look at you, all “noodle-knowledgy”! LOL! Glad you are enjoying them. The rice you got must be different from my Miracle Noodle rice, though. I still really like mine. I had a lot of broth from my crockpot tomatoey venison leftover, and some of the meat left, so I added the rice to that today and it was absolutely fabulous ! It reminded me of so, so much of
beef barley soup . The rice was nice and soft, too. My prep instructions are a little different from yours. Mine says rinse for 2-3 minutes in “cold” water, drain, plop in already boiling water and boil for 1 minute, strain again and dry with paper towels (I just put some on top of the rice or noodles in the colander and just press the water out. Then…you put it in your sauce and heat it all up. Supposedly if you heat the noodles/rice up with the sauce, they take up more flavor. Anyway… I’m glad you like the noodles at least. Thanks for the tip about storing them “in the sauce” for the next day. I have always refrigerated them by themselves. So, it’s like “marinating” them overnight…can’t wait to try that.
Elina ~ Did you check the pkg. deal of the angel hair Miracle Noodles on Amazon that I had told you about? I forget what it was, but it was a smaller package, so you could just try them out. These are my favorite and the most-sold version. That way, you wouldn’t have to spend as much and get some you don’t like, ordering the sampler pack. I got those Shirataki cubes I told you about, but haven’t tried them yet. Also, got a different brand of the angel hair….need to TRY it! Hey, now would be a good time for you to watch that video if you haven't seen it yet. You can watch it on konjacfoods dot com OR you can do a youtube search of: konjac Cafe 2 (no spaces). It's not that long. Also, TONS of recipes and info. on the konjac foods website. I make the chicken broth like you do, too. I just like the convenience of a little at a time in a carton in the fridge…and KNOWING how FEW calories are in it, since I’m using it as one of my “10 or fewer” fl4i drinks. When I want really good chicken noodle soup or broth, I do it your way. We have chickens here on our little farm and when their egg-laying slows down, well…you know…..they become broth . Hubby takes them to some Amish folks his dad knows and they do the butchering and cleaning and everything and then, I make the broth . We freeze the leftovers, then. Isn’t that awesome how the fat all comes to the top and gets hard in the fridge? Make it SO easy to get it OUT of there! My venison & organic beef broth leftovers did that too, but there was hardly any at all. Definitely not like the chicken.
I like the tablet so far. Haven’t done a whole lot with it yet. Downloaded a couple apps for the boys’ school and just got everything set up. So…HOW do I stream movies or shows? Do I have to have Netflix? I hope you got your charger piece back? Oh…and what was your surprise from your hubby? Bein’ nosey, here! Teehee!
Oh, and I looked up that Super Cleanse. As soon as I saw the bottle, I recognized it. I didn’t realize it was the same one I used to take. Maybe you already know, but I wanted to make sure. You (and others) need to be very careful with the Cascara Sagrada and Licorice in it. Especially if you (or anyone else considering it) has ever had ulcers, IBS, chron’s, or any other kind of stomach problems, high blood pressure, any kind of heart disease/conditions, low potassium levels (licorice, cascara sagrada, and senna, can lower potassium levels) and there are some other diseases/conditions where you shouldn’t take it. I guess it can also cause water retention?? They can interfere with certain prescription meds too. That’s why I switched to the magnesium/flax /chia seeds/Kyo-chlorella route (and occasional cup of senna tea) instead. When I read it was only recommended that you take it for 30 days, I started looking into it to find out, “why” and I ended up stopping it, because I have a heart arrhythmia and low potassium levels that I take prescription meds for every day. I am hoping to get OFF of those, though. Dr. appointment/blood tests are next week. First time I think I’ve ever actually been looking forward to going! LOL! I think she’ll be pleasantly surprised. I think I’m actually smaller than she is, now! Anyway, I’m sure the benefits of getting your colon “clean” outweigh the “risks” if you are in a “low-risk” category (w/ none of those health issues). Especially, if you only take it for the 30 days. I’m glad it’s making you feel “cleaned out”! LOL!
WOW! It's already 10PM here. Need to go watch Castle and unwind.
Take care, ladies!
I hope we hear from our MIA's soon!!!

Elina - It's really nice to hear you and hubby are having a good time! I'm getting the hip hop abs video because it looks like fun to be dancing around. As far as my resistance workout goes I use my 3lb weights while doing the boot camp video, as well as during the walk away the pounds video. What was your surprise from hubby?????
Mother Hen :o) - Fingers crossed they will find the source of Max's pain in the morning. The group hug pic for my daughter was so cute!
Zas - Hahaha Lorraine's "men" quotes were hysterical!! So glad to hear you are feeling better. I agree with Lorraine....your son is going to be so impressed with the "New You" when he sees you in a few months hahahahahhahah ".i didn't argue, because we had not actually made up yet" (that is sooooo something we women would say)
Eva - How are things going for you this cycle?
Butterfly - Your Tablet is "OUT" of the box on fitting into a size 10 pants!
My little one J is still sick but she is on the mend now. On Monday afternoon her pediatrician called to see how she was doing and it just so happened that about an hour before he called her fever came back with a vengeance, it was 103.4. I told him that her fever came back and that she was looking miserable, I also mentioned how I put my ear to her chest and it sounded like a washing machine. While we were talking she started coughing and he said he didn't like the sound of her cough over the phone, he then told me to take her to Children's hospital and that he was going to call them to have her admitted. He told me he wasn't the Dr on call that night but another Dr (Nancy) was and that he would call her give her the heads up and he would see me in the morning. When we got there we went to the ER and they were waiting for her, they did x-rays, blood work then started her IV then off to her room upstairs we went. Nancy came in as soon as we got up there and went over her x-rays with us. She said she has pneumonia AGAIN and RSV, she said its bad for her to have both at the same time. The scariest part for me was when a nurse came in and taped a paper above her bed....when I asked her what it was she said it was all of the medications at correct dosage she would need in case she suddenly stopped breathing and they had to revive her....I just cried Thankfully she is doing much much better now. She is on antibiotics, steroids, and breathing treatments every 4 hours. I'm so thankful for the relationships I have with a lot of the Dr's I work with as it felt like she was being extra cared for. Her pediatrician came in every morning to see her and he called in the evening to see how things were going.
I'm so tired that I could barely keep my eyes open all day. BF started working at his new station today, I won't get any cuddle time until Monday......what am I going to do with myself now Thankfully he was able to help get the other kids where they needed to be for a couple of days. My diet was completely non existent the past couple of days. The old me would easily use this as an excuse to start over again on Monday but the new me is jumping back on the wagon tomorrow morning. Where is everyone else???? Che is there a bun in the oven yet
It's 9:00p here and I'm about to pass out until its time for the next breathing treatment. Stay POP!

Anita... So sorry to hear your little girl is so poorly.. I can understand how tired and worried you must be. Don't worry too much about the diet right now.. concentrate on your little girl and you... though it is admirable that you are jumping back on a.s.a.p.
Give her a hug from all of us and let her know we are all thinking of her
Butterfly... Yes, I am sure the rice I have is different to yours as it is NOT calorie free.. and is NOT the miracle rice you have...though it is only 48 cals the whole pack... it tastes disgusting to me. It's the only kind we can get here.. I got it from the Zero Foods UK website but I won't be ordering it again! Boo hoo... I've run out of zero noodles and need to order a mega stock! lol.
Congrats on getting into those size 10 jeans! Doesn't it feel sooooooooo good when you go down yet another size?? You are doing so well with fantastic results.. I'm really chuffed for you! Well done! That soup looks tasty! Enjoy!
Icemaidin... I hope you enjoy the noodles and glad I could help Congrats on your 6lb loss! Those are excellent results and just shows you're on the right track. Now go steady with your 'choice' days. Forget the word 'cheat' as you are not going to be doing that! Instead you are going to make good choices on your 'choice' days and 'practise maintenance' aren't you! Sometimes it is mind of matter.. ie. if you go into the next couple of days telling yourself you can 'cheat' you will be more likely to overdo it and gain weight.. so instead, keep telling yourself you have to make healthy, sensible 'choices' to maintain your loss. You will need to do this when you reach goal to maintain your loss or you will just gain it all back, so it is good practise to adopt the habit of practising maintenance on your 'choice' days so that you learn how to do it. See my previous posts on how to maintain your loss on choice days
Zas... Sorry I don't have any more jokes at this time.. my mind is with my dog at the moment He's gone in for xrays but will need to be anaesthetised to do it. I'm waiting for them to call me when done to collect him and to find out their diagnosis.
Elina... lol.. so we've got you on the noodle trail too! hehe... I too am curious as to what your surprise was!
Gotta go and get my workout out of the way before I get the phone call from the vet.
Have a great day everyone and....

Zas... No I haven't been walking since my dog took poorly which was a week ago.. mainly because I can't leave him but also because I don't want to go without him
I have been doing a 30 min workout twice a day and some step ups in between to compensate for not walking.. so I'm still exercising and moving! Still waiting for the phone call from the vet to go pick up Max and the diagnosis. They couldn't xray apparently last week as there was too much swelling and fluid around the joint.. the vet said he wouldn't be able to see much with that there. Yet, it is STILL just as swollen and they are doing the xray now.. so I don't get his logic there. It cost me £75 last week and is at least another £200 today.. plus whatever it costs to treat him after diagnosis He is insured but as the insurer will not cover previous injuries or anything that is caused by or as a result of the previous injury I probably won't be able to claim for this. Will have to wait and see what the diagnosis is before I worry about paying the vet.

Good morning all, well am I proud to say I am down 4.2 pounds this cycle. Which is now a total of 12.8 for 3 cycles. Not too bad considering I have been super busy, not totally POP and no workouts. I am happily looking forward to my choice weekend and being very conscientious of my intake.
My girlfriend celebrates a birthday this weekend which has ended up now becoming a 3 day eating and drinking fest. I will keep you all in mind and be very careful... I hope everyone has a great weekend. I am waiting to hear of other weigh ins.
Lorriane praying for your puppy and Anita your little girl. Everyone else enjoy where you are and stay pop if on a cycle or remains in control if on a choice weekend. Ill check back on Monday. Don't for get you need lots of to be successful.

Icemaidine..when I type in 'sper cleanse' in amazon, it's the 1st on tht comes up by Nature's secret. I ordered 2 bottles with 200 pills each. I am going to do the 30 days and then I may take one or two a day. I'm not quite as regular as I'd like to be esp when I'm on a diet so this was quite a treat.
I am not one to normally take any 'unnatural' pills but this has been so amazing that I'm closing my eyes to any possible side effects!

Good morning! My husband found my charger! The convention center is 1 mile long from one end to the other and he went all teh way to the other end to get it! So my tablet is fully charged and ready to go!
Lorraine...I hope and pray that the xrays come back with good news. I understand the pain you are feeling for your boy....people who don't have a dog, don't understand that to us they are not dogs...they are our babies! I see my Cassie as one of my kids...in the morning she waits for the bus with my kids and it just melts my heart.
Yes, I am hopping on the miracle noodle train. Last night I got a stirfry and it had bok choy, peppers and onions and RICE! It didn't say rice in the description. When I got it, my hubsand was like 'well what did you expect, it says stir fry'. So I picked out the veggies and some meat and he of course had all the rice b/c he doesn't care. So I am going to try and recreate that with the 0 calorie stuff! Bok choy was really good in it.
Butterfly, I am going to watch that video later on today. I am enjoying my 'cleanse' results so much that I'm not even thinkig about the 'side effects'. I don't have any medical issues (yet!) so for now...I'm cleaning out! Seriously though I have not been too regular the last few months and I feel much much better now. There were a couple of episodes when I had to RUN to the bathroom but I made it! lol I didn't take them Wed and Thurs and I miss them!
Your stew looks AMAZING! where did you get venison from? your backyard? LOL We have farms around us and I'm sure there are fresh chickens....it's just so much easier to buy at the supermarket. Although my husband picked up some meat from a meat store recently and when I cut into it, I have never seen meat cut so smooth and it was raw....such a difference from the non-organic meat they sell at the regular supermarket. I am not going to take a trip every couple of months to a meat store and stock up.
Zas...I get so mad when our parents take the kids for a night and my husband says that we need to sleep! What? I know we NEED to but going out even for a couple of hours is such a nice break for me. Last night he was tired b/c he spent the whole day at the trade show but he was ready to go as soon as he got back...no complaints!
so the surprise was a really fun night out! He found this reggae singer Mishka on radio recently that he really liked (my husband loves jam bands) and just so happened that he was playing here on Orlando last night. So we went to downtown Orlando...which I had no idea Orlando is a city..thought it was all Disney! Not one sighting of Mickey in the city! Really cool city with fun bars, restaurats, etc . And we went to see this Mishka....it was a lot of fun. I like it when he comes up with fun things to do and surprises me...I really need that b/c when I'm home it's all about life with kids...nice to do something growup.
Anita...OMGoodness how scary about your daughter! RSV is no joke! I'm glad she's doing better. Did you order HHA yet? You'll have to let me know how you like it!
Oh, I went to the gym this morning....must've been some sight! I brought my DVD player and did my weighted workou there. I had to adjust a little b/c they didn't have the right equipment but I was fine with dumbbells. I'm sure it looked a little odd but I was in my own zone....so happy I got to workout!
Eating has actually been POP - I was dying for a huge desert last night but I did not have any!
That's pretty much it for now...today is relaxing day, no work for hubby! We'll see what the day brings!
BBL!

Hello all!
Didn't have the time to read everything... but, I noticed some of you trying to help me :P Thanks for that :) I really appreciate it! :)
Butterfly : Hehe don't worry I did take it the right way ;) I know I could do this, I tried the first time, but the ice is to be replace often and it's bad. And I can't cook there, I mean, if I have to eat an egg or something, but! I will try again next time, as I accepted to go there 2x more than I was supposed, so I have to deal with it and manage to find the right solution!
During this week at the hotel I gained 0.8 lbs... So now that I am back here, I am back on track! Gotta do 2 fruits day :) And some bike!

Hello ladies, I´m alive! Just extra super busy…sorry for not posting for long time. I´ll try to write longer tomorrow but just wanted to check in and let you all know that I’m doing a cycle and I just finished day 5. I’ve been more or less POP …I hope I can again be as POP as my first few cycles! Tonight is the first time that my son and I will stay home without my husband. He is on a trip for 2 days so let’s see how it goes with the 2 us here missing him . I’ll try to read some of the post just to know what is going on with everybody.
Be back tomorrow.

Good evening! Hope everyone is very well.
Sorry I cannot read all the posts at the moment, I have been very busy.
And I have been feeling very low too...thinking HOW LONG I have been trying to lose weight and where I am again now (in terms of kilos...depression big time)... anyways... I also have an interview on Mon and before Sun I have to complete online psychometric tests....not fun...very demanding and a lot of preparation needed...So I have been doing practise tests online....which lead to more depression.. Anyways, I feel a bit better now...I just need to sit down, concentrate and do my best for the interview, as it is a great opportunity for me.
I am so sorry, I cannot write more, I hope everyone is doing very well.
Anita, so sorry to hear about your daughter. I hope now she is much better, poor thing, she must exhausted.
Have a very good weekend all,
x

Hey, remember those coyotes I told you guys about....why I can't let my tiny dog out by herself and why I don't like to walk after dark? Got a picture of one of the little boogers!
THIS is part of my walking path! I know he doesn't look like much, but they run in packs and they can be really mean...at least for my little Libby .
Anyway...it's an absolute nuthouse here, right now. My three boys (18, 9, and 6) are playing basketball right beside me with one of those over-the-door hoops. Getting pretty intense! LOL! Hope to be back later. Time to get things settled down. Little boys should already be in bed!

butterfly......i had to Google venison.......because after i saw the pic, i was like.......wooahhhh !!!!! no prob !!!!!! somehow we can slaughter cow, goat, lamb for meat....but anything else is an issue.....
in India it is banned...i think they are endangered ..that's why .
somehow being with girls since a long time has made me used to peaceful environment...lol...yes there are small cat fights though !!!
but if i get visitors who have boys and are mischievous, then oh boy !!!! .....i wonder what will i do with my grandchildren....lol.......
lorraine....whats the news about max !!!!!
anita....how is your girl ?? better today ??
eva......good to see you back...don't fret about not replying to everyone......concentrate on your study and will definitely do well in your interview......and please do not weigh till then...it depresses you way too much !!!
chin up girl you made me soooo happy the other day.......we are on the path of reducing weight...and yes it is not an easy job !!! at least we are doing something....consider this if you are not on the plan then you would be gaining throughout !!!!
keep a nice dress for motivation.....you feel soooo happy after you fit into them.
look at me i think i am on the 11 th cycle....and have lost only 17 lbs !!!! lol
but i haven't called it quits....we will get there eventually

Congrats Boston on another 4.2lbs GONE!! Have a great weekend but take care and practise maintenance
Ghostwrite... 0.8lb really is not a gain... that is just your body fluctuating with the natural digestion, fluid and waste process. Great to hear you are back on plan.. Good luck!
Che... Good to hear from you and that you are pop! So you have a cosy couple of days with you son all to yourself... make the best of it.. they grow sooooo fast!
Eva... awwww bless you I really do feel for you. Try not to stress too much. I hate to think of you feeling so sad . Look on the positive side.. if you weren't on plan you would have continued to pile on more weight. Are you still losing? If you like, send me a private pm and I will do my best to help you get back on track
Good luck with the interview on Mon and the tests. Hugs x
Butterfly... Wow! What a beautiful home you have with all that in your back yard! I don't envy you the coyotes though! I'd be worried they'd want to eat me and my dog!
Zas... That's a great attitude to have when trying to lose weight ... It doesn't matter how long it takes.. as long as you get there. In any case, it is true that the slower the loss is, the more toned you will look when you reach your goal weight and the better chances you'll have of keeping it off.
Elina... Congrats on staying pop so far with all those goodies to tempt you at the hotel. Hope you are having a great time! oh... and still waiting to hear what that surprise was!
Well... Max's xrays showed no serious damage, no broken bones etc. Just a lot of fluid and some arthritis. Apparently the arthritis is starting up in the scarred tissue from the previous surgery... which the vet reckons is unavoidable with such injuries. He thinks Max has gone too heavy on it or overdone it a bit with the joint and probably has sprained it. But that was the on duty vet and not the bone specialist Max was seeing, who ordered the xrays, as the specialist is away all weekend but he will call me on Monday after he has examined Max's xrays with his opinion. So until then we just continue on with the anti inflamatories and wait to see how things go. Today, the swelling has almost completely gone and he is so much brighter... even wanting to play.. bless him! And though he will put his foot down occassionally he's still not weight bearing on the leg and continues to limp about on 3 legs. At least he doesn't seem to be in pain now.. thank goodness! He makes me laugh, I have been gently massaging the affected leg a few times a day and of course giving him lots of love and cuddles.. which he absolutely loves and would have me do all day and night if he could lol.. Now, everytime somebody walks past him he rolls over and holds his leg up for them to stroke with the biggest sad poor me eyes you've ever seen... as if to say, 'look I hurt myself and don't you feel sorry for me and want to cuddle me too' lol. He is sooooo adorable.. and he knows it!
Hope you all are having a great weekend... Take care

Lorraine - So glad to hear your baby is feeling a little better :)
Eva -
Zas - How is your exercise routine going?
Butterfly - season is almost over (yay) we play our last game next Friday (sooooo happy) Coyote's in your area are so scary! I love how much land you and your hubby have. I would always want to be out doors.
Ghostwrite - I saw this picture and I thought of you.... 0.8 gain is practically nothing!
Elina - Sounds like you and hubby had a fantastic time on your surprise evening...its always nice to get away from the kids to rekindle the
Che - Enjoy your cuddle time with your little guy
Boston - 4.2 is Awesome!!
My little one is doing much better. She is sleeping a lot cause the Dr said her lungs are working harder which makes her tired faster. I'm still super exhausted, I feel like I can't catch up on my sleep which in turn has made my body ache's kick into overdrive! But alas no rest for the weary.....I'm headed to the nail salon with the twins to get our nails done while my mom is here with the little ones. Diet is still on track, I'm forcing myself to eat again but this time I'm blaming it on sleep deprivation. I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Stay POP!

Lorraine glad that its not too bad with doggie...arthritis is no fun but it is prevalent in labs. The surprise was a night out in orlando and an awesome concert he found in advance.

good morning!
I am back! Although it got cold in Orlando last night, we landed in NJ and there was snow! Not a whole lot, a couple of inches but it was cold and the drive home was long and scary! I still had flipflops on...holding onto the summer weather till hte last minute!
We had the perfect day yesterday...the weather was magnificent...it was actually pretty warm in the afternoon esp in the sun...I was in a tank top but then twds late afternoon as the sun was leaving, it got cold...down to 32 which is not normal for FL but it's 20 here at home!
We had so much fun at Epcot...it was like being a kid for the day. Last year when we were in Disney with the kids it was not a lot of fun for me...the little one was scared of everything, the two older ones hated the walking adn there is a lot of walking!
So Epcot is my favorite park and I did not get to enjoy it last year b/c the kids had no interest in the 'world showcase' of diferent countries they have there. My husband was such a good sport...he went wherever I wanted to go and did what i wanted to!
Lorraine and Eva...thought of you guys as we sat in 'England' and watched the 'british revolution' band perform various bands i.e. beatles, the who, stones, etc...And they have this street with tea stores and various items from UK.
Then we wanted a belly dancer in Morrocco, drums in Japan, Mexican band in Mexico...I feel like I traveled around the world! It really is amazing what they have there in Disney!
My eating was good...I did not have any specific cheat....the first 2 days I was POP and ate a lot of cheese sticks, almonds and cottage cheese. BTW the WW smoked mozzarella cheese sticks are so good! They saved me...I carried them with me everywhere...50 cals each so even if I went crazy and had 2 or 3...that's only 100-150cals! Also 100 calorie bags of chocolate almonds or cinnamon...OMG they are so good too! I had them and cheese sticks in my bag and a few times thoso two were my meal on the run!
We did go to a Brazillian buffet one night and I felt like I at so much but all I ate was tons of various veggies and some meat and chicken.
My big treat was the giant turkey leg...how could I not get one b/c they only make them in Disney? But I think if I went to Disney again, I'd skip it...I had my fix last year and this year and I'm done.
So my weight is the same as when I left..120 and I want to lose 2lbs by the 25th b/c we are going to a school fund raiser and I have a nice dress to wear. I was 118 when we went to the wedding in Dec and I felt good at that weight.
Zas...I did not forget about your workouts but I assumed that you do them! Yes now you understand why I try not to skip too much b/c it is hard to get back into it.
I did not workout yesterday b/c I take one day off and plus we did so much walking...wish I set my odometer on my phone but I forgot. Today I wanted to do a DVD but my body is hurtig and I'm so tired as we did not get home until 2am. So since yesterday walking was my workout, today is rest day and I need it!
Anita..love your last post!
Butterfly...should I order those konjac noodles or miracle ones? you like angel hair and rice right? I did watch that video...looks good! I want to make chicken noodle soup with those.
Eva...I hope you are working out! Look girlfriend...you have all the tools..the right diet, a great workout and us for support and motivation...the rest is up to you. I know how you feel depressed about your weight...but you have to keep going. Work on changing your mindset too...this is not something temporary..this is for life. And guess what? when (not if!) you reach your goal and you go to Greece you can still enjoy yourself but you can make compromises. So it's not a life sentence, this is change for the better.
A few years ago I would've been so sad going to FL in the middle of winter...I'd have nothing to wear b/c I wasn't ready for summer! But this time it was so nice to wear what I want, all my clothes fit and most are even lose! It took a long time to get here but I did it b/c I did not give up! You can do it too!
Ghostwrite...I just spent 3 days in the hotel room and like I mentioned before, I ate mostly cottage cheese, yogurt, cheese sticks and hard boiled eggs. Plus cucumber slices, sugar free jello...stuff like that. And for dinners I only ate protein and veggies...so you can at least maintain while you are working. Are you working all day?
Ok my kids are calling from my mom's house b/c they are ready to be picked up..back to reality!
I will try to post a couple of pics from my trip..when I am able to crop them. Could not do that from phone or tablet..will try from pc later.
Be good guys!

Anita ~ So happy to hear little J is “out of the woods”! How is she doing today? Are you getting any rest today? Breathing treatments, meds, and taking care of her are probably keeping you busy still, huh? You’ll just have to rest and sleep when she does. Way to go jumping right back on plan, too! Hasta La Vista BABY! To the “old” you!! I’m glad you got through all the stress and are “on the other side”. Sounds like a scary ordeal to go through! I love your cute and colorful post!
Thanks for the “congrats” about my size 10’s. It is so surreal being in this size! I put ANOTHER pair of jeans on just “to see”, because the last time I tried them, I had some severe “muffin top” goin’ on…this time, my waist was smooth right to the top of the pants! I almost cried! It just seems like yesterday that I tried them on! So, this week has been pretty momentous! LOL!
Icemaidin ~ WAY TO GO on your SIX pounds!! That is super! How did your choice days go? The first one is usually kind of “crazy”…at least that’s what a lot of people have said (and how mine was). SO….if you didn’t “control” yourself as well as you would have liked, don’t beat yourself up and remember a LOT (if not ALL) of any gain on the scale is waste and water! Hop right back on plan #2 and you’ll be fine.
Glad you ordered the noodles. Ask any questions you like once you get going with them. I am actually guilty of starting this noodle craze a few pages back when I was talking about my Miracle Rice (or noodles, I forget which). I was like you when I first discovered them! They are truly amazing for us “dieters”. I have a cookbook that came with my order and there is a site called konjac foods (google it) that has tons of recipes too. Did your shipment arrive yet? Which kind did you order? I am equally as excited about Walden Farms’ chocolate syrup and maple syrup….zero carbs, zero calories and they taste great! Either one is amazing on vanilla frozen yogurt, the chocolate makes awesome chocolate milk or is yummy in smoothies, and the maple is also really tasty on oatmeal and warm pears (or a waffle, pancake, or French toast on choice weekends).
Good luck to you on your next cycle!
Zas ~ You said: butterfly.....your dish looks superb !!!.....now even i should order miracle rice !!!! lol
all this talk of miracle miracle zero ......has got me ...hahaha....just kidding ....enjoy guys !!!! Sorry, I guess I started this CRAZY “miracle” ball a rollin’! LOL!
Hey, those tortillas would be GREAT for choice days! You can also cut them in triangles, spray them with zero cal. spray, sprinkle with seasonings and bake on about 300 degrees until crispy (turn over when really brown)…voila… low cal/low carb chips! J That surprise on your sil and son will be so fun! Lorraine is right about the slow weight loss lasting and being easier to maintain! I think it is AWESOME that you are STILL going and haven’t given up! Way to GO! So, I was curious….when you do all your cooking, do you have to taste-test it or do you have “tried and true” recipes that turn out the same every time? I find when I am on plan, I can’t prepare dishes that I have to taste… I am a good cook, but it drives me crazy letting the family taste it before I’ve “perfected” it! LOL! So…I stick to foods I have a recipe for and know they turn out the same every time…without me having to taste it to “make sure”.
You are RIGHT about too much basketball! LOL! I’m seeing games in my sleep! Glad you like our farm. It is very “right” for us. The garden food is for our big family of 7 and we also share with family and friends. The corn, beans, and wheat is a commercial endeavor…you know…typical American farming (big equipment, etc.). He works with his dad. Oh my goodness! I love your Venus fly trap…poor smiley! LOL!!
Hey, glad to see you made… and like your veggie chile. It looks beautiful AND yummy! What’s the white “dollup” in the middle?
Lorraine ~ awww…… your poor puppy! I can just SEE him putting his little paw up to everyone. He sounds like a sweetheart…AND a smart one too! I’m glad there is nothing serious, but sad that it sounds like it might be a chronic-type thing. Our oldest has hip dysplasia and has been really helped by a product called Dancing Paws Joint Maintenance. The label says, Designed for active dogs and certain breeds prone to developing joint degeneration and soreness. Our Joint Maintenance formula will help provide your dog with protection for years to come. Keep your dog active with regular use.
Thanks for the congrats… it really does feel good getting in those jeans! I am just SO glad I never listened to those “expert” clutter-control people who say, “Do not keep ANY clothes in your closet that don’t fit”! LOL! When I lose a size, my closet is like a free “store”… I have so MANY sizes! LOL!
Bostonchick ~ WAY TO GO on your 4.2 POUNDS!!! And 12.8 for 3 cycles is a really, really good average! Especially since you weren’t totally POP. That must be REALLY encouraging for you! What a GREAT job!!! How was the birthday celebration?
Elina ~ Welcome BACK from your world tour! I HAD to laugh at your giant turkey leg! We have those here, when our turkeys go to market. Our toms are WAY bigger than anything you’ll find in the supermarket, and YEP…dinner in the backyard…again (well, actually the barnyard, in this case teehee!) I took those posts down…just in case. I din’t want to take the chance of offending anyone, ‘ya know? Don’t wanna scare off any newbies! I KNOW! It is COLD here, too! It was 12 degrees and windy yesterday! Today is better, at 25. Still Brrrrrrr!
You said to Lorraine: I understand the pain you are feeling for your boy....people who don't have a dog, don't understand that to us they are not dogs...they are our babies Isn’t THAT the TRUTH! I SO agree with you! I am close to our big dog, but the little one is MY baby. She literally is by my side wherever I go. When I come home from anywhere, she cries and cries until I pick her up, then she wraps her paws around my neck and snuggles to get closer as she cries some more. It is so cute. If I go to the bathroom without her, she scratches on the door to be let in, if I leave in the car…she wants to go to, if I sit on the couch to watch tv, she’s right there on top of me. Right now, she is in her bed on the floor beside me. I love her like she is my baby. It’s crazy and I am going to be an absolute basket case when it’s “her time”. She is only 2 (almost), though…still a very little girl…teehee. The bad thing is, I’ll probably lose her right around the time my last kiddos are leaving home. Wow…THAT will be HARD!!! Terrible timing! Don’t even want to think about it. It’s like having a child and KNOWING you will only have them for so many years…and then they’ll die SAD!!!SAD!!SAD!!
Hey, welcome aboard the Magic Noodle Express!! LOL! I hope you have a better experience THIS time ‘round. I’ve only tried the miracle noodles and you had them last time? Maybe you should try the konjac ones. I forget what their shipping was like…and if you could get small packages? I also got some from Asian grocer…I went through my ebates for that, got a coupon code and cash back. So…it’s up to you, Elina. If you just want to try them, you could go with the angel hair from Amazon (a few bags, free shipping) and “yes”…I like the noodles and the rice. The next time, I am going to try the konjac ones and see if their “claims” are legit.
Way to go foregoing the dessert, taking your snacks, and doing your dvd in the gym…how FUNNY! You are a hoot, Elina! I’m so glad you had a great time with your hubby. We went to Disney when our now 13 yr.old daughter was 4 and our oldest two were 8 and 10. Animal Kingdom was our favorite-favorite place there and EPCOT was the runner-up! Can’t wait to go back. We are actually contemplating the Disney cruise though, since our kids are all ages…thought it might be a better “fit” for our whole family…plus…there is something to be said for those professional babysitters that watch AND entertain your kids for you while you…ummm…be adults for a bit. LOL!
Ghostwrite ~ Sounds like you did GREAT…without any of my “pep talk” LOL! Way to go, you…maintaining in a HOTEL atmosphere!! You are doing AWESOME! Thanks for checking in with us.
Che ~ Hey! THERE you ARE! Glad to see you back! Way to go, staying “mol”…POP! How was your night with your little guy? Do okay without hubby? Sorry you had to miss him. L
Eva ~ How did your tests go? Good luck at your interview. Hey, don’t be so hard on yourself. Tomorrow is a new day. I bet once you get a job you are happy with, the diet stuff will “fall-in”. It IS hard…especially when you are stressed and HOME. Pull yourself up and just start again. REMEMBER…we are all here for you, so check in when you can and don’t ever give up! Like Zas said, “YOU will get there eventually.”!
Rickie, Web, CIA, Sarranea, Nutmeg, Texascs, Tammarie??? Missing you girls! Come BACK and check in with us .
Well…it’s that time of Sunday. Time to go do my lesson plans and get ready for another week of school. Talk to you all soon! HAVE A GREAT SUNDAY…and those on choice weekend…resist that “last-minute…oh no…it’s almost over…so I better EAT it NOW” thinking! RESIST....BE STRONG!!

Hi all... Hope everyone has had a good weekend and stayed on track

for all the well wishes for Max
He is feeling much better today and even managed to walk 40 continuous steps! Yes, I counted them! lol... The swelling has almost gone and he has started to use the leg a little. He mostly hobbles on 3 legs still but is putting the leg down occasionally and bearing weight on it. So we have started walking him very slowly for 5 mins a couple of times a day and letting him sniff about on the grass.. that's when I counted the 40 continuous steps before he lifted the leg again. It will help stregthen the joint and get it mobile again.. plus give him the confidence to start using it again. He is much brighter now and back to his old self so he is obviously no longer in pain.. thank goodness!
Anyway, back on topic....
ANITA... I am so glad your daughter is feeling a little better.. hopefully, she is on the road to recovery.
well done for staying on track with everything you are going through. You will be well rewarded for your efforts in time
ELINA... Your hubby sounds lovely! What a wonderful surprise that was for you... you are one very lucky lady! Your planning ahead, taking your meals with you, working out and staying pop on your trip worked well and I am soooo proud of you. Your dedication is admirable.. you really are such a wonderful inspiration to us all!
As for the noodles, mine are the konjac ones. Can't get the miracle noodles here so I can't comment on how they compare.
ZAS... Good girl for doing your workouts!.. I am glad you liked the veggie chilli recipe.. Your dish looks awesome! Did your family try some? Did they like it too?
BUTTERFLY... There you go... the 'muffin top' has gone for good! and good riddance eh!! lol I am sooooooo proud of you girl!!... You have done so well and you are a true inspiration for others here. I think you should update your before and after pictures so we can all see your excellent results

Found a new "toy" on our photo program (Picasa)....called COLLAGE! SO FUN! These are some of my photos I've taken here on our farm and around our home. It's hard to see, but the very 1st picture has rain coming at me...sunny in the foreground and sheets of rain coming right towards me. It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen!
Lorraine ~ Thanks for the muffin top farewell pic! FUNNY! LOL! I will post a new picture when things settle down around here (ie...when basketball is over ).
 Have a GREAT night, everyone!

hi everyone,
day 9.......
well had checked my weight yesterday and had seen an overnight gain of more than 2 lbs....this is soooooo depressing !!!! will just keep swimming.....
lorraine....that is such good news !!!! you must be waiting for the moment when max would walk !!! he is such a good walking buddy for you.....but take it easy on him !!! wish him a quick recovery.....
my eldest daughter liked the veg chilli...she is fond of vegetables more than meat...so she gave it a ....
hubby ate too.....but don't know sure how much he liked it ....lol.....he is fussy about food....but it was tasty !!!
btw ...thanks on the lovely and motivating comment you had posted earlier....seriously sometimes i get sooo discouraged and consider myself so pathetic to loose so slowly....but then again i have no option either just keep gaining and become a balloon ......or keep loosing slowly and make this my lifestyle !!!!
butterfly......i generally never taste my meals, only for salt, that too if we have guests for dinner.....lol.......most of my recipes are tried and eaten a hundred of times....lol....
i have become pretty boring...lol......i remember initially when i was newly married and didn't know much of cooking...me and my sil would always be hunting for new recipes...kebabs, sweets...etc.....and making something new everyday !!!!
now i just cook regular food...sweets only when we have guest...kids are not too fond of them and they suffice their sweet tooth with ice cream and chocolates...because if i cook something sweet, then i will land up eating .it ...
that dollop is something like sour cream.....lol....oops !!!!
have you taken those pics !!!! amazing...i envy you !!!! you have such beautiful surroundings!!!
congrats on getting on those jeans.....yes we should keep some of those old stuff...lol...they can be so motivating and can make us feel so happy....
we wear shalwar kameez.... ( and that's not me !!!! lol)
which tend to be a bit loose....but it can be tight too !!!
so i had this top ( before marriage ) which was tight....i kept it just to remind me how thin i was.... and to get back into that...well months passed into years and then into decades !!! instead of loosing kept gaining more....lol....so gave it away..though i still have 3-4 of my expensive wedding dresses !!!! kept them for my daughters....only if they will wear .....lol.....i am never ever and would not want to be that thin !!! keeping my goal realistic.
welcome home elina.....
such a lovely time !!!! wow !!!! any more countries out there ????
when i was near San Diego i wanted to visit Disney land...at that time i was very fond of rides , fun etc. ....but somehow could not go.... .....now i have lost that zing..... if anyway tells me to go on those rides i will scream !!!! .....maybe getting old...lol
take your rest , you deserve it !!!
and yes that is cilantro...we call it coriander and we too put it in everything...also make a chutney of it !!!!
eva....how are you doing ???
anita.... how is your baby ???
boston , cia, che.....mia !!!!!
tomorrow is holiday....Qatar national sports day....started this for the first time this year.....lot of activities here in the stadium which is just close to our house !!!
then on 15 th there is this gala dinner !!!! and on 16 th its my weigh in !!!! wow !!! lol
